A source in Congress tells Breitbart News that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Minority Whip John Cornyn are using their leadership positions to pressure other Republicans to oppose Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in his campaign to defund Obamacare.
"Right now in the Senate, Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn are actively whipping Senators to shut down debate on the House continuing resolution so that Harry Reid can gut it with just 51 votes, a senior congressional staffer with intimate knowledge of the situation said in an email to Breitbart News. Unbelievably, they actually are leading the fight to fully fund Obamacare.

And we're going to exert maximum pressure.
So Senate Republicans, who are you going to side with, Mitch McConnell, or We the People? If you choose door number one, we will vote you out.
Thank you for your time. And have a nice day.
Thanks for the url. My message to them:
I stand with Ted Cruz. Our donations are going directly to worthwhile conservatives, like Cruz and Lee.
Have a nice day.
He is going to say he voted for the House bill and against Harry Reids amendment funding Ocare, only the astute will know that the vote on closure was the real vote and that he voted for that. So he thinks he can get away with it. I sure hope he has a decent opponent in next years primary. I know I will be voting to retire him.
“Let me see here...public hates Obamacare 60-40 or so. McConnell and Cornyn are pushing to ensure it gets funded”
You are incorrect. They are pushing for cloture so they can then vote no when funding wins 51-49.
This way they can say they voted against Obamacare.
Time to break off and have a conservative party.
The Texas GOP-e didn’t want Ted Cruz.
Anyone know about either Stovall or Wyatt? Looks like it's time to elevate Cruz to senior senator from Texas. Trying to decide which challenger gets my $$$ and support. Haven't knocked on doors or phone banked since college but looks like now may be the time to come out of retirement.
Never heard of Stovall and Wyatt, probably not serious contenders.
Either his phone lines are flooded ot they have taken them all off the hook. Nothing but busy signals at all offices.
Jeb Bush is also behind the attacks on Cruz too.
Grrrrrr.
Have been trying to call his Dallas office and keep getting a busy signal (three times now). Hope it is because of a deluge of calls, but I’ve learned not to get any hopes up anymore. I am going to hear Mr. Stovall speak next Saturday. He will be Cornyn’s replacement.
The GOP is dead to me. I’m looking for a real opposition party to the Democrat-Socialist Party.
Now is the time to also give support to the Representatives in the House to be strong, and not go wobbly. The House can refuse to hear what the Senate returns. It has been suggested that the House begin voting on smaller, individual CRs to fund military, and other desired recipients. Make the President, and the idiots in the Senate choose what they want to shut Down.
The Constitution gives the power of the purse to the House. It is not what the Senate wants. It is what they are given to vote on by the House. Our founders were prescient. We must support our Representatives so they will be steady.
The battle has just begun. If Repubs stay consistent, they will prevail!

The the health care insurance law that isn’t Constitutional is worth shutting down their dear government!
Those old dinosaurs really need to be retired by their constituents. I am such a proponent of term limits and McCain, Cornyn and McConnell are three reasons why.
Unfortunately, there is nothing unbelieveable about it at all. They're exempt. Those Republican cowards and traitors must be defeated.
Called. I told them that I helped get Cornyn elected and will be helping to primary him this next election for whipping the vote on cloture. Failing that, I will be voting for a D for the first time in my life. Texans are not as stupid as you think we are. We are incensed with your double dealing and dirty tricks.
He replied very politely, “Okay. Thank you.” and hung up.

Reporting for duty, Sir!
A House much less a Senate or a party divided
Can not withstand the winds of fate.
I smell a big big batch of TEA brewing. Do you? :-)
That was my question - whether the Senate version has to go back to the House for approval. The House will just have to send it back to the Senate with the Senate stuff taken out. That could go on forever and Obama wouldn’t have funding for any of his crap. Sounds good to me.
The idea of sending individual measures to the Senate is good, but I’m sure the Senate would just tack Obamacare onto that as well. But it would be hard for them to say that the R’s were shutting down the government if the R’s offered to fund the government one piece at a time and the D’s refused each offer because it didn’t have Obamacare.
Somewhere in there should be a law that prohibits waivers from Obamacare, or that prohibits funding for any program where Congress or federal workers are treated differently than average citizens.
