A source in Congress tells Breitbart News that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Minority Whip John Cornyn are using their leadership positions to pressure other Republicans to oppose Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in his campaign to defund Obamacare.
"Right now in the Senate, Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn are actively whipping Senators to shut down debate on the House continuing resolution so that Harry Reid can gut it with just 51 votes, a senior congressional staffer with intimate knowledge of the situation said in an email to Breitbart News. Unbelievably, they actually are leading the fight to fully fund Obamacare.

I wonder how much of a cut (of Obamacare profits) they are going to make if they succeed?
Our leaders are looking out for themselves, not us!!
These idiots seem to want a third party.
Cornyn needs be asked, point blank: Why do you support ObamaCare? I’m sure as he campaigns for reelection next year, the citizens on Texas will want to hear this over and over again.
Let me see here...public hates Obamacare 60-40 or so. McConnell and Cornyn are pushing to ensure it gets funded.
Why does that not translate into these two pieces of s..t not being removed from their positions in the senate leadership, at least, and from office when the time comes???
The DC establishment is well entrenched and the us verses them is further demonstrated to be what it is all about.
A few years ago, my much younger cousin and I were arguing about his reluctance to support McCain against the plague. He said to me you don’t get it, they are all the same guy. I recently called him and acknowledged his wisdom admittedly five years late.
This is all about money and staying in power and after that, it is all conversation.
Filthy traitors!

They don’t seem to understand that what they do now will carry over into 2016. Better to defund ObamaCare now rather than take the hit in 2016 with the possibility of republican control. Give us time to recovered from the stock market collapse.
Every Texas conservative should contact Cornyn’s office TODAY and tell him that if this account is correct, he should not expect Texas conservatives to vote for him in the future. There is no excuse for sitting on the FR site and complaining if you haven’t bothered to contact his office yet.
When asked how it stayed funded (if it does) when they all voted to defund it many will say :
“We told ya that the GOP doesnt have enough seats in congress to repeal it. We all tried. We need to win another election first”
The Senate rules on this can only lead to voter confusion.
THEIR GOP Party BEGAN ObamaCARE/RomneyCARE
and they, their families (into perpetuity), and their
staff (into perpetuity) are not even UNDER ObamaCARE.
Here come the Masters, now.
I heard that Alexander was #2.
(But then I think that Juana and Linda are #2 too (tutu?).
Exactly. They are apparently only focused on 2014.
When they keep on their current path, the base for the POTUS candidate will have evaporated.
The Senate rules on this can only lead to voter confusion.
It is not confusing at all to anybody paying attention. The GOP is preemptively surrendering. The Surrender Party is intent on funding kenyancare without even an engaged battle over it.
If you call GOP Senators they say:
I am voting for the House passed bill that defunds Obama-care and I will vote against any bill that has Obama-care put back into it. I stand with House conservatives on this
I really think that McConnell and Cornyn and Boehner and all the other GOP leadership is looking at this as a way to slap him down and put Cruz in his place and get him to back off and let them lead. If that’s their intent then I predict it’s going to fail badly. Cruz probably won’t win this one but he will come out of it stronger and more committed than ever. And more influential among his conservative peers.
He is. Because he knows the Republicans will get blamed for it. And why will they? Because the media, all the Democrats, and half the GOP will blame them for it.
