Paul: We probably can't get rid of ‘Obamacare’
Associated Press ^ | Sep. 21, 2013 5:15 PM EDT | Thomas Beaumont

Posted on 09/21/2013 2:28:46 PM PDT by Olog-hai

Republican Sen. Rand Paul says President Barack Obama’s health care law probably can't be defeated or gotten rid of.

And he’s suggesting there is little he and other congressional Republicans can do to stop the law from taking effect. …

I, myself, am not conservative on many social issues, but I’m getting tired of watching one Republican after another roll over on economic issues to this administration. How can we fix this country when our own side aids and abets the other team?

I’m afraid this acorn didn’t fall far from the tree. Like his father, his chief interest is power and pork. They talk, talk, talk, but it doesn’t mean anything when it comes to the showdown.

B/S. Something told me Rand Paul would be among the first to cave. Completely unreliable!

Hold the line!!

The house must never pass or approve any bill or senate amendment that allows obamacare to go forward.

Obamacare sets the SCOTUS approved precedent of unlimited government power. The precent set would mean that the government can force anything they wish on the American people, constitution be damned.

That would be checkmate.

Which dad do you trust as First Father? Paul’s or Cruz’s?

Rand Paul: September 18, 2013

At the 4:50 mark of the video, Rand Paul goes totally off the rails when discussing Hussein Obama's past as a dope fiend:

"And I think what a tragedy it would it would have been if he had gone to prison. What a tragedy it would have been that America wouldn't have gotten to see Barack Obama as a leader."

There are so many things wrong with Paul's defense of Hussein Obama:

Rand Paul is unfit for office by his words giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

If the majority of voters hate it, it can easily become history

But a majority of the voters don't hate it.

"How can we fix this country when our own side aids and abets the other team?"

Quite impossible.

We can wait for common sense in the electorate to prevail and go virtual Galt until then.

Aw krap Paul.
OF COURSE you can get rid of O-care.
Congress has the power of the purse.
Defund it and it is mostly gone.
We can clean up whatever garbage remains later on...

We should never stop trying.

Did the leftists ever stop trying to destroy traditional morals and traditional marriage?

.....”If the majority of voters hate it, it can easily become history”......not unless voter fraud stops, & nothing is being done about voter fraud....nothing whatsoever. it’s never hardly mentioned.....seems like part of a big scheme where nothing ever happens about any corruption, no matter how outrageous.

If Marriage can be toppled after thousands of years you should never say never.

It’s the Republican leaders who surrender on issue after issue.

The only way to get rid of it is if enough people refuse to sign up, especially young people who the administration is counting on.

Unfortunately, it’s what the majority of voters in 2012 wanted. So, the best way to deal with it is to let it take effect and hopefully the voters will backlash against it.

The problem with the repubs is they have no idea how to fight.

Take a page from the dims book.

If it is correct that the way obumberscare law is written that it can not be stopped, then pick out one or more obumbler pets that can be defunded and defund them totally.

When obumbler cries, tell him what it will take to get his money back.

Whack the IRS. Without the power to tax, there will be none of this foolishness.

Defund the IRS. Then when he cries, make it a sales tax with a minimum that will only fund that which the Constitution enumerates.

When the GOP had the majority and the White House, how did the Democrats get Medicare expanded?

Well, we could start by weeding out those who are not "conservative on many social issues"

You're absolutely right. It's just a way of going on the record.

When we get the house and senate and White House...then we'll see....except it would be like trying to get rid of Medicare at that point.

If the House refuses to pass a bill funding obamacare then it doesn’t get funded. Period. And according to James Madison, that is their right and duty.

The senate has no say in the matter. If they amend the bill and send it back to the house, then the house rejects it. Then begins passing a series of individual “clean” bills to fund each and every essential department one by one. If Reid amends them, reject them again. They can play this game right up to election day. The people will not be fooled by Obama/Reid.
