Karl Rove is always worth reading for a glimpse of how GOP elites are thinking, and his latest Op ed suggest real panic setting in over the chaos and division spreading among Congressional Republicans over how to handle this falls fiscal fights. Rove confirms an argument that will be familiar to readers of this blog: Public disapproval of Obamacare does not translate into public support for GOP efforts to sabotage the law.
-snip-
The poll is obviously one commissioned to advance an argument against defunding, but the very fact that Crossroads GPS whose mission is to win elections commissioned it and is calling Republicans attention to it is itself noteworthy.

The same Karl Rove with a 1.6% success rating? bwahahaha
Rove sucks. He and his GOP-E buddies can all go jump off a cliff.
(R)’s lose elections all the time. What do they think is going to happen that’s any worse than that, even if this were true? And in recent history, (R)’s win when they act conservative and/or when the Dems go far left.
In fact, they KNOW conservatism is what the voters want because they move right the year or so before they’re due to be reelected. So Rove is either stupid or lying to advance an agenda.
The same Karl Rove whose fundraising has collapsed because of his 1.6% success rating.
Now he’s pimping ObamaCare to keep his Crossroads GPS PAC from going out of business. Not a surprise given how desperate things are for him.
According to Karl Rove, an RNC elitist of the first magnitude, a majority of Americans don’t want Obamacare but if the congressional GOP takes a principled stand against funding it the GOP will be punished by voters in the 2014 elections. Cognitive dissonance on stilts - and I don’t buy it.
Ok, I will admit it. I hope and pray that Richard Burr IS in a panic.
HOW in the heck do these guys think they are going to walk around in the country, without having to look over the shoulder all of the time?
They were sent to DC to oppose Obama- and they ending up getting big crushes on him- and screwing over Americans.
Shame on them. They do not deserve the peace that comes from a civil, peaceful ad just society.
I hope their sleep is full of nightmares- because THEY are panicking US. They are helping to steal our country from us.
Freep You Karl Rove (FUKR)!!
Well, he’s right about one thing. Rove HAS devolved into a liberal squish.
When Democrats act like Republicans, they win.
When Republicans act like Democrats, they lose.
Why is that so hard for Republicans to figure out?
Right now, Rove is pimping:
1. Mitch McConnell
2. Amnesty
3. ObamaCare
No wonder his fundraising and consulting gigs are vanishing.
That's nice. Lemme guess - - win elections by pandering to the maleable, ignorant chattering class and the scumbag Democrat "mainstream" newsrooms by going "Democrat-lite"? What kind of win-loss record does "Crossroads GPS" have, by the way?
This whole thing is creating a narrative on what the Republicans in the House have done not based on the merits of their arguments, but based on what pundits are saying people *should* think about they have done. Is there any discussion in this article about the numerous disasters which have already unfolded and are unfolding right before our very eyes due to this law? Isn’t that what is most important to discuss? The Cleveland Clinic, countless people losing work and insurance, doctors scaling back, facilities never even being built, etc, etc, etc?
“: Public disapproval of Obamacare does not translate into public support for GOP efforts to sabotage the law. “
It is obama and the unions who are sabatoging the law by waiving parts of it and enacting “rules” which will exempt the unions and others who supported obama. The GOP hasn’t touched it.
Karl, problems need fixing. That’s why we vote our Congresscritters into office. Obamacare. Obama supporting Muslim terrorist gangs Obama and congress destroying the economy and jobs. Spying on innocent American citizens. Misuse of public agencies for partisan political purposes. Etc. etc. the R party can either clean these problems up or go out of business. Take your choice.
Defund Karl Rove!
If we have to worship at the feet of the dim party to be a “good republican” then I do not want to be a republican. karl rove can go to hell... he already is destined for that place. Only through redemption can he be saved.
For us there is no spring. Just the wind that smells fresh before the storm.
