ust hours after the deadly shooting rampage at the Washington Navy Yard, gun control advocates tried to reignite the national debate over gun laws that had only just subsided.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, California Democrat and a longtime gun control advocate, denounced “the litany of massacres” over the past few years and asked rhetorically, “When will enough be enough?”

[snip] The National Rifle Association had no comment on Monday, and pro-gun groups generally take the stance that days of particularly shocking crimes are not the time to discuss policy. Popular conservative blogger and former CNN commentator Erick Erickson admonished the rush to politicize the shooting, saying “seriously people, grow up.”

It’s gas operated so if you’re familiar with , say, a Remington 1100 or 11-87, it is very comparable and low-impact. Altho the geometry is more “AR “ style it’s easy to redress a 1100 with pistol grip, etc. The neat thing about both systems is that you can shoot them off-shoulder, one-handed, since they don’t need to “feel” recoil like the recoil operated shotguns, all of which lace your shoulder pretty good and won’t cycle if not braced against a shoulder or stump. The 1100 is my favorite shotgun to redress into riot configuration:, All steel, no potmetal, no loose mag, can be topped off without unloading, and with the right stock can actually be used to deliver a decent “butt stroke”, and way easier to clean with no exhaust gas in the action..

You are correct. Also, I remembered later that I had forgotten the Korean-American kid that ran amuck at Virginia Tech. It turns out he came from a strong Christian family, but alas, Satan used his mental illness to drive him to evil - and to fit your definition of one who is an amoral/atheist (and likely socially liberal).
Per wikipedia:
he "railed against his parents' strong Christian faith." According to one report, Cho Seung-Hui had left a note in his dormitory which contains a rant referencing Christianity and denigrating "rich kids." He stated that "Thanks to you I died like Jesus Christ, to inspire generations of the weak and defenseless people."

Maybe I’m strange, but my (mossy 590) shotgun is my go-to firearm. I’m not talking about WTSHTF scenarios as much as day to day “operations” on my place.

But, tell you what, WTSHTF, a good shotgun is a prized tool.

Well, it wasn’t so much to listen to Piers as it was to watch Uncle Teddy “play with his food” so to speak.

I’ve met Nugent, and he’s a damn decent fellow, very gracious and welcoming. He’s a passionate 2nd Amendment man, and pulls no punches with people who advocate disarming us.

I don’t believe in being polite to people who are trying to take my rights and my liberty away, and neither does he.

After watching “The Pianist” again last night, and what the National Socialists did to disarmed Polish and Jewish citizens, I’m even MORE disinclined to be polite... We ALL should be.
