... a local burger joint outside of Detroit, Mich. is going to start to paying $15 an hour to new employees on October 1.
Moo Cluck Moo is currently paying its entry level employees $12 an hour, far above the state minimum wage of $7.40.
We always wanted to be at $15 an hour. It just feels human to do it. Its not an easy job to do.

I agree 100%. Neither the government, nor the labor mobs should be able to force businesses to pay higher wages, but ifba business owner does it voluntarily, God bless him.
Just wait until SEIU realizes that workers earning $15/hour can now “afford” to pay uinion dues..
The burger is $3. Adding the drink and fries is another $3.
Still, that $6 is about the same as the Burger King Whopper meal I had yesterday. The basic combo was around $5.70ish with the 50 cent upgrade to “medium”. Making it a little over $6. The meal sucked.
So if they can produce a good burger hot off the grill, hot fries and a cold drink for for $6 and pay their few workers $15 more power to them.
I know a great little burger place here in town that charges $5 for the burger combo. Only two workers, the owner/cook and the girl at the counter. Only open from 11 to 3 and they have a line out the door from 12 - 1:30ish.
Great way to launder drug money or hide other criminal activities. If they do not go out of business... they are a front.
I used to work in a small non union factory that paid more than the much bigger union factories around us. The owner expected a lot out of us but he repaid it in loyalty which was returned.
The boss explained that it was cheaper in the long run to pay us more. The union factories spent far more per employee but those union employees took home less and the factories made less off those employees.
Voluntary is terrific. You can bet, though, that leftists will point to this as an example of how, since this guy can do it, a $15/hour wage doesn’t hurt businesses. Since that’s the case, everybody MUST pay that.
I guess we will see how that works out for him. I doubt anyone will want to pay 10 or 11 bucks for fast food. It is suicide for a business owner with a low quality product.
“Former Burger Restaurant, Now Tacqueria”
I think any employer should be able to decide what they want to pay....I don’t think the govt. should have any thing to say in it. The market place should decide what a job is worth!!!
At 15 bucks an hour in Detroit, the employees can save up to buy an entire city block within a couple of weeks.
The raise in worker’s salaries won’t have that great an impact on salaries. A worker makes a lot of burgers and other stuff per hour, so the salary is distributed over a lot of sales. Another factor will be quality of the workers if they’re effectively hired and managed. One loyal, competent, honest employee is worth at least two minimum wage incompetents.
Wait until the NAACP see’s that there are 10 white employees...that’s it. Didn’t see a tanned face on their Facebook page...They looked clean cut...probably drive BMW’s their parents bought them..all is well in Dearborn Hts. MI
They decided they needed a bigger truck.
The $15 wage, to the extent it advantages a business, is because others pay less. If everybody is forced to pay $15, the benefits will disappear.
People have been talking about how the physical and paper precious metal markets are “decoupling”. When the same thing starts to happen with physical currency and electronic payments, look out.
It is already happening a little — do you pay extra for credit card transactions? Many stores give a cash discount. This means that those using credit cards and EBT cards pay more.
EBT — Electronic Benefits Transfer. The government will start delaying payment to stores that accept them. They will automatically tax them. They will discount the payment based on this or that, etc. Vendors will give bigger cash discounts.
Ask the little stores you frequent if they give a cash discount. If they don’t, flip out your credit card. They’ll catch on. Once they start discounting based on method of payment, gold, silver, and barter will be next.
It is already happening.

But you already know him.
Should be "Sum Ting Wong".
Some how...some where... there are monies either coming from taxpayers, LIB benefactors or???
What is on the dollar menu?
