The dump was likely “gehenna”. Many times in the NT Christ used the analogy of this burning dump to describe the fate of the wicked at the end of the age.
Sacrificial animals were not brought to the Valley of Hinnom (Gehenna), which was in use even in Jeremiah’s day for human sacrifice to Ba’al. You would very likely find a lot of human bones there.
