Limbaugh: GOP ‘Frozen’ By ‘Paralyzing’ Accusations of Racism Towards Obama
Mediaite ^ | September 4, 2013 | Noah Rothman

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh said on his program on Wednesday that he believes the Republican Party will operate in an entirely different fashion if the next Democratic presidential nominee is not an African-American. He said that the Republican Party is “frozen” in fear of being accused of being racist and is not effectively opposing President Barack Obama as a result of that fear.

“By every measure available to us, polling data, everything but election returns,” Limbaugh began, “the American people oppose what is happening.”

“The party that’s supposed to represent us is afraid to,” he continued. “They are more inclined to either be quiet or to give the appearance of, not opposing Obama — because they’re scared to do it, for some reason. And I think one of the primary reasons or explanations for that is race. I just think it’s paralyzing.”

“I think the accusation of racism and serious criticism will be rejected because it’s said to be racist,” Limbaugh continued. “I really do think it has them befuddled.”

“We haven’t lost the people yet,” he added.

“If the next Democrat presidential candidate is not African-American, it’s going to change everything about the way the Republican Party operates,” Limbaugh said. “I think the Republican Party is frozen.”

He said that, once Democrats cannot accuse the president’s opponents of being racist, it will free the GOP to be more strident in their opposition to Democratic policies.

“Racisim” my behind. I don’t care if the guy is green black, blue or white, he is still an arrogant idiot. To me that is reason enough to dislike him. Race has nothing to do with it.

Where are you hearing that Rumsfeld support? Not from what I am reading: http://www.mediaite.com/tv/rumsfeld-blasts-obamas-red-line-on-fox-he-will-blame-everybody-and-anybody-but-himself/

Dr. Carson, Allen West, Herman Cain... these are black men I would follow into any war zone any time any day.

Barack Obama is a feckless turd with no morals, no scruples, he’s an agitator, and he’s completely incompetent. He was put into office through bribery, trickery, treachery, and fraud. He has no proper documentation as to who he is or where he’s been, his past is a complete mystery, and he’s consistently sided with Islamist extremism on the world stage.

Barack Hussein Obama is a treacherous human being not worthy of his lot in life. That’s not racist, that’s fact. He belongs in a cell, rotting away the rest of his life, not walking a free man running a country of 300 million people.

America, in your rush to elect the first black president, you elected the worst president.

You can't really blame America, when the opposition party didn't offer much of an alternative in either 2008 or 2012.

That is rationalization for self righteous conservatives that allowed Obama to be elected.

His critique is about the style, not the substance of the situation.

Obama is muddling the thing up etc. etc. is what’s coming from Rumsfeld.

The GOPe wants intervention like guys who used to work the State Department from Kissinger down to guys like Elliot Abrams.

Dan Senor and that most infamous of Bush Administration officials Karl Rove have also signed onto military action.

Wow!! I can't remember the last time I so strongly disagreed with Rush. Yes, the Repubs are wimps. Yes, they're worried about the drive-by. Yes, the Dems will shout racism, homophobia, sexism, and any other charge they think might stick. But to say the Repubs are afraid of being accused of racism against Obama is culturally tone deaf, I think.

In 2013 America you're allowed to disagree with the president and believe he's a buffoon without being considered a racist. Except perhaps for the far out fringes which were never ever going to think well of Republicans anyway.

Bullsquat! It is the truth. McCain and Romney were both terrible candidates, both had serious credibility/likability issues, and both took a dive like a crooked prize fighter.

Rumsfeld spoke in Grand Rapids at the Gerald R. ford Presidential Museum earlier this week.

“You ought to change the regime or you ought to do nothing” is the quote from Rumsfeld on Tuesday from the M Live website.

I DON’T HEAR RUSH LIMBAUGH, MY NAMESAKE TALKING THIS WAY ABOUT THE ISSUE. HE’S ALWAYS IN ATTACK THE DEMOCRATS MODE AND TRY TO KEEP US ON THE REPUBLICAN PLANTATION MODE.

Then you haven't been listening lately.

If you want him to advocate for your particular third party, it won't happen, but he's not cutting the republicans any slack.

All caps doesn't make your point any more important or you any more correct, BTW.

His point is that the arguments (sales pitches) coming from Republicans are wrong, not that the party is rotten to its core and lying to us about every issue from immigration to Obamacare to fighting terrorist.

That’s what I am saying now about the GOP.

Well, everyone's saying the GOP is afraid. I've been calling them cowards for years and years. If you're so worried about your brand image as a political party, it seems to me the worst thing you could be associated with is cowardice.

This doesn't seem to phase the eGOP. Because for one, they're not about winning. They're about CYA and protecting their pathetic little careers and perqs. They got themselves out of ObamaCare, have they got the rest of us out of it? Heck no. They're afraid of being called racist or accused of shutting down the government or of starving children and old people. Pathetic little worms.

They are frozen because they do not have a clue how to deal with them. Nor do they have a clue how to exculpate themselves.

As Thomas Sowell said, Democrats could sell Eskimos a freezer before Republicans could sell them blankets.

AMEN BROTHER! Shouldn't we really blame so-called "conservatives" who decided to stay home and allow this turd to win his second term? Hope all those who stayed home or voted third party are happy with the results.
