Trump University Made False Claims, Lawsuit Says (TrumpAccused of Illegal Business Practices)

The New York State attorney general’s office filed a civil lawsuit on Saturday accusing Trump University, Donald J. Trump’s for-profit investment school, of engaging in illegal business practices.

The lawsuit, which seeks restitution of at least $40 million, accused Mr. Trump, the Trump Organization and others involved with the school of running it as an unlicensed educational institution from 2005 to 2011 and making false claims about its classes in what was described as “an elaborate bait-and-switch.”

In a statement, Eric T. Schneiderman, the attorney general, said Mr. Trump appeared in advertisements for the school making “false promises” to persuade more than 5,000 people around the country — including 600 New Yorkers — “to spend tens of thousands of dollars they couldn’t afford for lessons they never got.”

The advertisements claimed, for instance, that Mr. Trump had handpicked instructors to teach students “a systematic method for investing in real estate.” But according to the lawsuit, Mr. Trump had not chosen even a single instructor at the school and had not created the curriculums for any of its courses.

This guy has left a trail of unfulfilled schemes, scams, a slew of bankruptcies, loan defaults, some of which seems to have come home to roost in the unmasking of his true character.

Either that, or this is punishment for Trump not donating campaign funds to the right politicians in New York.

Could this be the real reason why he ended his pursuit on the birth certificate issue?

With Mr. Trump’s vast media exposure, I do not think it would have been in his best interest to do what he has been accused of. He works with his family, as well, which makes this accusation more dubious. You can say what you want about Mr. Trump, but I do not think he is that stupid.

This sounds like payback to me.

Yep, if you dig deep enough you will see Obama and Eric Holder’s hands in this. I can smell the stink through the computer.

Your point is very well taken. If only it was that easy. Unfortunately, it's much easier to hang a private citizen up by their own petard than to do so regarding politicians.

And admittedly, despite Trump's indispensable influence and contribution in the name of thee Tea Party and all that it stands for, I have a personal dislike that colors my opinion of the man.

Holder and Obama are totally vicious and ruthless. They'll go after Trump, his reputation, his family, his livelihood and his pet goldfish with everything in their considerably powerful arsenals.

I like the Donald on most levels as do most folks. You can bet he has a powerful bag of tricks of his own....and he can be ruthless enough to use them if his back is against the wall.

This will be an epic Battle of the Titans, whoo hoo!

Go Trump! The enemy of my enemies is my friend.

Holder and Bammy may regret taking him on.

Despicable and reprehensible that the GOP doesn’t have the gonads to go after this Regime and expose them to the American people. God willing, Trump, Cruz, Gowdy and a handful of others have the spine, guts, and gonads to take them on. How pathetic is it that there are only a handful of men willing to protect their country from the enemies within? Arlington must have thousands rolling in their graves.

***The New York State attorney general’s office filed a civil lawsuit***

This is one of those launching platforms for higher office: N.Y. governor and even GULP Prez... and when self-same office went after Microsoft - along with Connecticut & other Democrap Marxist states - look at all the $$$ involvement they precipitated from gullible Gates...
