FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) -- Army Maj. Nidal Hasan was convicted Friday in the 2009 shooting rampage at Fort Hood, a shocking assault against American troops at home by one of their own who said he opened fire on fellow soldiers to protect Muslim insurgents abroad.
The Army psychiatrist acknowledged carrying out the attack in a crowded waiting room where unarmed troops were making final preparations to deploy to Afghanistan and Iraq. Thirteen people were killed and more than 30 wounded.
Because Hasan never denied his actions, the court-martial was always less about a conviction than it was about ensuring he received the death penalty. From the beginning of the case, the federal government has sought to execute Hasan, believing that any sentence short of a lethal injection would deprive the military and the families of the dead of the justice they have sought for nearly four years.
A jury of 13 high-ranking military officers reached a unanimous guilty verdict in about seven hours. Hasan had no visible reaction as the verdict was read. In the next phase of the trial, they must all agree to give Hasan the death penalty before he can be sent to the military's death row, which has just five other prisoners. If they do not agree, the 42-year-old could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Why yes! Yes he did!
This piece of pig $h!t won’t just go away quietly. He’s going to complain every few months about not having some deathcult thing or other. First it’ll be that he is forced to obama while facing saudi arabia and demand they move the toilets. Then the food won’t be halal enough. Then the prayer rug needs vacuuming. Then he wants a deathcultist to trim his beard. Then his indoctrination book will be mishandled by guards. Then he will demand special treatment during the holy month of love and tolerance.
All the whining will be slavishly picked up and broadcast over and over by a deathcult loving media.
Yes! There is a God! (of course I know there is :) )
Post of the day!! :)
She is pretty vile - I'll give her that much./s
That's what I was wondering - do civilian and military trials overlap.
Do they have equal status?
Do they have pissing matches over who is number one in charge?
You think that will stop the legal beagles? I’m not so certain.
Cool videos. Thanks for the links.
Who knows... after all the Constitution's penumbra seems to be growing without any restraint. If not that a diligent researcher could probably unearth an obscure case to use as precedent.
I was once told that pre-nupt couldn’t be made to stick because “you can’t sign away your rights.” But I don’t know much about the system - I keep as far away as possible. It seems to me that some law weasel could get a judge to reason “The Court should have NEVER allowed that man to represent himself so the waiver is invalid!”
wow, lol, remind me to stay on your good side:)
I can’t believe it took this long to get convicted and even have a trial. Why was there even a trial? How many people witnessed this? Rope. Tree.
I would modify step 2 and 3 this way:
2) Feed his body to the pigs and gather his "remains" when they come out of the pigs.
3) Ship his "remains" to his relatives and require them to keep them and produce them upon request. Failure to produce them results in immediate deportation to whatever third-world Muslim hellhole they came from.
He won’t last that long. Someone will take him out. People like him don’t last long in prison.
Holy shet, look at the mug on him....Like he’s smelling something really bad.
Put him in cage with starving hogs.
“I think I would prefer he get life in prison without possibility of parole so he could wake up every day and know that only death would end it.”
I’ll second that.
YES! YES! YES!
