Mohamed Al-Zawahiri, the brother of Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri, and high-ranking leader of militant group Al-Jihadeya Al-Salafeya (The Salafi Jihad) was arrested in Giza on Saturday, reported state-owned Al-Ahram.
Al-Zawahiri was caught while attempting to pass through a police checkpoint when security officials identified him.
Al-Zawahiri has been arrested a number of times for his connection to jihadi activities.
He recently made appearances on Islamist channels, and wrote statements on his Facebook page (now closed), in which he claimed that Al-Jihadeya Al-Salafeya is monitoring the situation [in Egypt] closely.
Bump
Al Qaeda supports Morsi.
Obama supports Morsi.
Hmmmm......
Arrested?? Yeh....ya mean having lunch with the big boys...he’ll disappear again...
BREAKING NEWS: Egyptian security forces arrest brother of al-Qaedas top leader Ayman al-Zawahri second Most Wanted Terrorist

When they want to, they can tackle the problems perfectly fine on their own: Egypt is making quick and admirable progress in tackling the Muslim Brotherhood. The son of scumbucket Mohammed Badie, above, (Ammar Badie) was shot dead in Cairos Ramses Square on Friday, the party said on its website. Today the brother of terror nightmare Ayman al-Zawahri is arrested.
From your article
***Mohammed al-Zawahri was transferred from a police station to a maximum security prison out of concern his supporters would attempt to free him from the police station, the sources said. Police stations have been coming under attack in recent days.
Usually a suspect is not transferred to a maximum security prison until after conviction.
An Egyptian government official said Saturday that 173 people had died and more than 1,000 had been wounded in the clashes that began Friday.
The violence continued Saturday with an outbreak of gunfire near the al-Fath mosque in Cairo where a group of protesters had barricaded themselves inside.***
I’m tired of always getting #2 from Islam.
Osama wasn’t the real #1
It was zawahiri who was the operational genius
From Wikipedia. ***In 1998, al-Zawahiri formally merged the Egyptian Islamic Jihad into al-Qaeda. According to reports by a former al-Qaeda member, he has worked in the al-Qaeda organization since its inception and was a senior member of the group’s shura council. He was often described as a “lieutenant” to Osama bin Laden, though bin Laden’s chosen biographer has referred to him as the “real brains” of al-Qaeda.[48]***
So, why hasn’t Bammy “obtained” Mullah Omar?
Did you miss the attempted scatological humor too?
Interesting. Arrested by whom?
He’s still breathing???????
Al-now al-wood al-chipper
And as I occasionally like to remind people, Zawahiri's Egyptian Islamic Jihad, a Muslim Brotherhood offshoot, was on Saddam's payroll when they recruited Osama and then formed his inner circle. So all the ink spilled about how Osama had nothing to do with Saddam was always a bit... well, the truth was always hiding right out in the open.
Osama was the money man.
So this arrest is just routine, and he'll be back out in time for dinner.
Hillary Clinton and Obama brought this upon the Egyptian people
DO NOT BE SURPRISED WHEN THEY HATE US NOW!

Is there a way to watch this without signing in?
Kudos to Egypt’s military for capturing this guy.
You know you got a messed up situation when EGYPT is standing up for freedom and even collaborated with Israel on an air strike against militants in the Sinai (a story I saw last week, Google it), but America is on the wrong side. I’ve always been proud of my country, even when we’ve had less than stellar leadership, but times like this make me cringe.
I understand he was discovered at a security checkpoint. Probably concealed somehow as before, when they shuffled in and out of the camps in coffins and such.
