Four teens -- three 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old -- were among seven people shot across the South Side overnight, according to police.
A 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were shot as they left a basketball game around 11:30 p.m. just east of Martin Luther King Drive in the Park Manor neighborhood, police and relatives said. A 49-year-old man was also shot.

Similar to many major cities, Chicago has better areas than others. The South Side is generally considered the hotbed for significance violence and the Tribune has published maps which compare neighborhoods. Some of the crime has encroached into the better areas but the shootings and such remain in higher probability in certain ‘hoods. That said, I would never let my guard down while visiting a city.

There must be a typo in this article, no way it came from Chicago. They have very strict gun laws so nothing like this can happen there!

If you think about it a violent Chicago actually serves a purpose for the anti-gun liberal and Democrat Party.
Without doing anything to solve the issue of Black-on-Black violence there, they can continue to point to Chicago as a reason for more gun control.

Happened to me last year. I left STL and was heading into IL to visit son and family. I took a wrong turn and ended up in E. St. Louis. I called son for directions out. He Told me to take the next left, and don’t stop until until I got to E. Alton.

Curious why we cannot tag stories with the label of “blackcrime”? I did that before and was told it was verboten. I am curious of the rationale behind that as we are talking about stories relating to African-American crime.
