The U.S. Air Force said that a well-known drag queen group was invited to perform on base during a Diversity Day celebration because drag is a symbol of gay pride and unity. But the performance sparked outrage among some airmen who called the drag show totally offensive and inappropriate.
Jewels and the Brunchettes performed to a small crowd at the Los Angeles Air Force Base on Aug. 8, the military confirmed. Photographs provided to Fox News show an individual wearing a giant wig and sporting form-fitting dresses performing to a sparse crowd underneath the American flag.
Drag acts to this day represent the struggle for freedom and equality of the LGBT community, while at the same time providing a deep-rooted historical form of entertainment for the LGBT culture, said Peggy Hodge, a spokesperson for the Office of Public Affairs. The military said the drag queen group did not include any members of the Air Force.
Drag queen acts are historically one of the main forms of entertainment in the LGBT culture, having its roots in the earliest of days of the gay rights movement, Hodge said in a written statement.

My brother just retired after 20. Are the bene’s better after 30?
Their so-called Freedom and equality takes away my right not to be harassed by these creeps. Russia got it right!!
I’ll believe that sodomites calling for “unity” is INCLUSIVE when “heterosexuality” gets added to all of the GBLTXYZQ lexicon.
They are boosting their numbers, pushing for quota based advancements, gay bars, gay support groups, gay based awards, etc. So much for “diversity and unity”.
Faggots want supremacy over “breeders”.
Here's an interesting point, I DIDN"T know that which leads to me another interesting point, he kept it to HIMSELF!
You mean down some himbo's pants.
I did a fascinating paper on the subject for a college Abnormal Psych class. Drag queens are not, for the most part, homosexual. Look at the Monty Python sketches or someone like Dame Edna Everage.
That is not to say that all drag acts are harmless satires. The Judy Garland/Cher/Marilyn Monroe imitators are spooky. They identify very strongly with their idols, and seek to become them, even across gender lines. Which to me is a little bit pathological. But even then, the phenomenon isn't sexual. It's twisted, to be sure, but not intended to be erotic (unless the subject character is known for her eroticism).
All that said, I fail to see what this kind of act is doing at a US military installation. It's one thing in the red light district, but another altogether where it's sponsored by our tax dollars and staged on a government post.
LAAFB has always been called the Hollywood Air Force.
All this nonsense would be understandable in an instant if one “journalist” simply asked Obama “Are you a homosexual, Sir?”.
A bikini pinup poster on base “creates a hostile environment” but men making lecherous comments at other men in “sexy” dresses does NOT “create a hostile environment”. BULLSTALIN.
Just last week I was hauled into an auditorium to be lectured by a senior chief and some other volunteers about activities like ‘mushrooming’, ‘credit carding’, ‘teabagging’, and ‘nut tapping’, and how these things might be considered sexual assault if they’re not desired.
The knowledge of what teabagging is had already been forced on me by the news media. The others I had no need or desire to know what they are, and yet...now I know.
Sadly, the only thing that will change the direction and decay of this country, is an attack so devastating that it brings the survivors to their knees, in remorse for what they allowed to happen to a once bountiful and beautiful nation. How can an insignificant minority demand and control an entire population to the point where our safety and security are secondary to ones sexual preference? How can Obama in a press conference, brag about LGBT Olympic athletes beating heterosexual participants? It is surreal, that children are even hearing this crap, let alone it becoming an international “incident”
I retired from the USAF in 1988. We had the social actions thing start in the 70s. We had mixed reactions to it, but now this? I can agree with others. They are trying to drive out the good people, and create a force, that will have no problems firing on American civilians.
“...a small crowd”? That’s not a small crowd. That’s not even a crowd. That’s just a few random people sitting apart from each other.
My wife and I are both veterans and just shake our heads in shame at what we see the military becoming under the PC leftists and Obama’s gay fetish. The US has many challenges in the world right now, Russia, China, the Middle East. And yet Obama chooses to focus on scolding Russia for their mistreatment of gays and the importance of gays in the 2014 Olympics. WTF? I believe Obama is gay himself and is obsessed with highlighting and promoting this small percentage of our population to his and our country’s ruin.
Something tells me he’s not CEO material. In fact, what exactly does he do; is he a tattoo artist?
Sure would be a bad idea to get into a fight with those earlobes.
If my father saw that at the base (the drag show) he would be furious.
God bless your father for his service.
I have no idea about that demented freak.
Curtis Lemay, please call the office!
The Marine Corps says "All is clear on the firing line."
I feel sorry for the normal troops who serve today and am thankful that I served before perversion was celebrated.
