That is a fact.

If I see one [which is rare] hubby is sent out on lawn detail and the whole yard is soaked with Permethrin.

Really puts a hurt on ‘em.

I also stopped feeding the birds in the dogs’ yard as they ~and~ the critters attracted to the feeders can carry them.

Since I did that and ripped out my wild blackberry bush, I hardly ever see any.

The one on my toe was a wood tick from the trees we cleared out and piled up in the pasture.

I wish I had a flock of Guineas.

I remember back in the 80’s it was like, nobody knew WTF was going on.

I *know*.

About 20 years ago, my cousin had a tick he didn’t know about and later, he got really sick.

It took *years* for them to correctly diagnose him and by then, it was too late.

He’s still a mess.

When Odin came up positive at 6 months [probably passed from his dam] he got 600mg a day for 3 months.

An IDEXX Quant C-6 test after that showed <9 titer which is considered ‘clinically insignificant’.

His health insurer has even stricken it from the record so it’s no longer considered “pre-existing” if he gets it again.

Chickens are good too but Guinea fowl make it their life’s work to murder and devour ticks.

I’m sure my neighbor would start whining if I got some.

They’re pretty noisy little guard birds.

Oh, no...the marrow!

That means massive doses, IV.

Nobody could keep down enough pills to kill it when it goes into hiding.

A dear friend had heart catheters for her, her hubby and her little kids, they were that bad off.
