NIAMEY, Niger Niger's interior minister says a body fell from an Air France plane as it approached the West African country's capital, Niamey, and was discovered lifeless in western suburb.
Abdou Labo said a resident was standing just a few meters from where the body landed at around 5 a.m. Thursday. He said police arrived and found "the lifeless body of a black person, lying in blood."
He also said blood had been spotted on the left wing of the plane.
Labo said the plane was coming from Burkina Faso's capital, Ouagadougou, and was scheduled to continue to Paris.

Yes, I remember the Payne Stewart incident. Didn’t have emergency oxygen or, if they did, lost consciousness before the realized anything was wrong.
Temperature drop is generally considered to be 3.5 degrees per 1000 feet.
90F - (39 x 3.5) = -46.5. Cold enough, but survivable. I have camped out at -33. If you have the right equipment, which isn’t very likely for some random African.
I suspect an even bigger issue is the lack of air pressure and oxygen at that altitude. The bends would be very likely to get you, also.
I don’t get those anymore - I guess spam filters are getting too good.
RIP, ye Nigerian princes.
Now shrunk to lower wattage
Commando
Sherman, next time read all the posts before replying.
Sorry about that.
It’s the homeland of *something*...
Next time...Fly Asiana!
The last Time I flew Air France, they had a display in the cabin that indicated that the outside temp was -100°. But that was at night in the middle of winter over the Atlantic Ocean............
Averages? Where’s that dang graph of the drunk “averaging” walking between the two lanes of traffic...
“Burkina Faso’s capital, Ouagadougou
When you name a city ooga doo goo, you are just asking for people to make fun of you.”
I think his last words were: “Bad Ju Ju Bawanna”
I’ve heard about things like this happening in the other direction: frozen, lifeless Africans discovered in the wheel base on landing in Europe; but never this. Very odd.
“Reinhold Messner might be able to survive that high without supplemental oxygen and the appropriate acclimation and clothing, but the person we are talking about here probably wasn’t even conscious, either from the drop in pressure, or the temperature. Most likely dead very quickly”.
IIRC there have been several people who stowed away like this and lived. Maybe they were shorter flights.
And then there’s Mt. Washington. Just shy of 6300 FEET, you could be roasting at the base, and be below freezing at the summit in the middle of the Summer.
Shamanistic flying is all fun and games until you encounter something bigger in the same airspace.
I suspect 3.5 degrees per 1000 feet is an average.
Hey, that's the name of the guy who's putting all the money in my bank account.
And the poor guy's uterus....
That’s The Honorable Mr. Ouagadougou .........
