Congress has launched an investigation of the helicopter crash that killed 30 Americans in Afghanistan, including members of the Navy’s elite SEAL Team 6 unit, The Hill has learned. [WATCH VIDEO]
The victims’ families say the Pentagon hasn’t provided answers to their many questions about the deadly attack, which took place on Aug. 6, 2011, three months after Osama bin Laden was killed in Pakistan by Team 6 forces. Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform subcommittee on National Security, told The Hill, “We’re going to dive into this.”
Chaffetz said he met with the victims’ families about a month ago in what he described as an “emotional” gathering. He is poised to send questions to the Pentagon and may hold hearings on the matter.
Charlie Strange, whose son Michael was among those killed, said he asked President Obama two years ago at Dover Air Force Base to fully investigate. The death toll in the crash was the largest of any ......

I will start this by saying this is all my speculation based on experience and not sourced except from info in the public.
The first team that was inserted and got in trouble was sent based on Afgan intel. This group was then ambushed and the decision was made to send our best and most highly trained guys in the world on slow birds to help. WHY, I am sure they had several good teams that could have accomplished an EVAC but no they send the best of the best.
I think this was an ISI setup from the start. Someone made the deal to trade these great men to help those beasts in the ISI to save face in the wake of the Bin Laden raid( State Dept). Only speculation based on experience.
Makes me sick inside to see those pictures of these great men and know that this government did not have their back. UHHG.
I repeat only speculation to all who are reading this in DC.

Well can’t have anybody talking about thawing Osama out before dumping him at sea. It was a total set up.
I have read many stories and reports on this issue, including many conspiracy theories implying something linked to the capture of Bin Laden.
All of the conspiracy theories ignore the fact that “Seal Team Six” is not an individual unit, there is more than one “Seal Team Six” unit and multiple units can be deployed in the field at the same time; in missions unrelated to each other at all.
Conspiracy theories aside, that does not mean there are no questions that reflect on possible incompetence and/or negligence in command decisions, whether following “rules and procedures” or not. I think there are.
UH-1s are not fast movers as they have a lower cruise speed than a CH-47F, by about 20 knots. Dispersing the force across UH-60s, if they were available, would have been a better idea but Mogadishu showed that even they are vulnerable to RPGs. Also, 3305 Hueys were lost in Vietnam.
"All the bodies were cremated. The Pentagon has defended the cremation to the soldiers’ families, saying the bodies were badly burned.
Chaffetz, however, said he has seen a photo of a deceased SEAL that was not.
“The body I saw didn’t need to be cremated,” Chaffetz said, adding that the Department of Defense’s explanation of its failure to find the helicopter’s black box seems “awfully odd.”
The same thing happened to reporter Michael Hastings's body. It was cremated without notification to his family despite a report by an eyewitness that it wasn't badly burned at the "accident" site.

It would be worth it for a privately funded expedition to retrieve Bin Laden’s body double from the bottom of the ocean, just to watch world leaders squirm over the implications.

Vice President Biden should be doing hard prison time for outing SEAL Team #6 as the team that got Osama. Biden’s big mouth put a target on 6’s backs. Liberals can’t keep secrets, and who the eff entrusts Afghans with classified info relating to SEAL Team 6 flights? Swapping the Afghans on board at the last few seconds is very suspicious, not to mention their name discrepancies on the flight manifest, too.
