TV station KTVU was apparently on the bad end of a prank earlier today, when it supposedly reported the names of the pilots on Asiana flight 214:

KTVU Apology for Friday Noon report
KTVUs Noon newscast on Friday, July 12th, the station misidentified the pilots involved in the Asiana Airlines crash at SFO.
Prior to air, the names were confirmed by an NTSB official in the agencys Washington, D.C. office. Despite that confirmation, KTVU realized the names that aired were not accurate and issued an apology later in the newscast.
The correct names of the pilots in the cockpit were Lee Gang-guk and Lee Jeong-Min. We sincerely regret the error and took immediate action to apologize, both in the newscast where the mistake occurred, as well as on our website and social media sites, said Tom Raponi, KTVU/KICU Vice President & General Manager. Nothing is more important to us than having the highest level of accuracy and integrity, and we are reviewing our procedures to ensure this type of error does not happen again.
I’m sure Asiana has their attorney, So Su Mi, right on that.
I heard this on the Michael Berry radio show. It is hilarious and I can’t believe that it wasn’t picked up by someone before the announcer blurted it out. :D
Why not put the clowns on CBS national news? CBS’s anchor Dan Blather fell for Baba-booies teeth!
We named our cat “Phil McCracken,” courtesy of our then 21-year-old son. We just don’t tell people his whole name, like the vet, because I don’t think they’d understand my family’s sense of humor, lol.
Sadly, a third victim of this crash passed away this morning.

(if you can trust the source)
It’s bad enough that they were so dumb as to put these names on the screen. But then for the infobabe to actually READ THESE NAMES ON THE AIR. . . ! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! How stupid ARE these people?

ME bad..Me LOL!
The producer’s name is Sum Dum Guy and the anchor is Long Yung Dong. These folks really Fupped Duck.
Now that would be some funny footage.
Once upon a time, I worked in radio and somebody pranked me pretty good... :)
When I was a college freshman in ‘69 (olden days), halftime at football games was filled with PA announcements for lost children, doctors getting emergency calls (no cell phones then), etc. One game had a particularly long list of announcements. The veteran PA announcer must have lost his focus - the last announcement said, “Jack Mihoff, go to Gate 12.”
After a two count, the entire crowd erupted in laughter.
I kept waiting for the anchor to bust out laughing. No deal.
” the last announcement said, Jack Mihoff, go to Gate 12.
Reminds me of the scene in “Porky’s” where the waitress takes a call from one of the buffoons asking her to see if “Mike Hunt” is anywhere in the drive-in!
