Day 24 (Week #5) Zimmerman Trial – Final Day – Probably a Verdict before dinner [No, Jury Adjourned]

Today, July 12th, is DAY #24 (of 5th week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case.

Today the defense attorney, Mark O’Mara will present his closing argument. Then the prosecution rebuttal.

This is absolutley my first and last post concerning this trial. All I can say, that if he is convicted the game has changed.

The ability to defend oneself against thuggery will have been extracted much like many of our other liberties. Things will get quite ugly I am afraid.

I don't think it is a coincidence that now we are being told that it is racist for police departments to prepare for riots. The message is quite simple and direct: when it comes to black violence, you don't have a right to defend yourselves.

I live on the Idaho/Washington State border. In the last two years I can count the blacks I’ve seen around her on one had. A lot of retired LA cops live back in the woods.

I wouldn’t make much about how long it takes the jury to come back with a verdict..the Casey Anthony jury almost took a week to come back and we all know what happened, and that was with 12 jurors, this one is only 6..I guess Florida juries take their sweet time to come back with a verdict

The “crying” report was from an AP reporter, others have noted that the juror had rubbed her eyes a number of times throughout the trial. I call media wishful thinking.

Thanks for the additional details. Seriously--I've been rubbing my sore/dry eyes a lot the past few days. Others too. There is something in the air--perhaps mold/fungus from all of the rain in Florida lately.

They are probably exhausted. Don’t think it portends either way that they are stopping at 6. Probably want to go over the evidence good tomorrow when not so tired.

My total guess is they want to sleep on whatever it is that they decided and come back fresh in the AM to confirm their leaning. They would not adjourn this early otherwise.

Maybe they want to give the commuters time to get out of Dodge.
