>> I can’t even imagine SIX jurors coming up with a guilty verdict of anything except swearing.

think of 6 liberals you know, and you’ll be able to imagine it very easily unfortunately. Let’s just pray they’re one conservative in their group.

Agree that they probably won’t have a verdict tonight - they recognize they don’t want to be painted as an OJ jury.

I sat on a murder trial jury in California long ago, what amazed me with that jury was we went into the room, decided on a foreman, and then took a quick vote. I was one of 2 on the jury that actually had some reservations and wanted to consider things - after a week long trial a lot of them just wanted to call the guy guilty and go home. We did go over several items, including a hospital report that had been put into evidence for an injury the defendant had sometime before and was being used by the defense as an explanation for the minute spots of blood on his shirt (this was before DNA testing that would have nailed the guy today - the expert could only say it was human as I recollect - another argument was it was from a chicken). What was interesting was that the prosecution had made a point during the trial of showing the assailant was left handed by the way the knife attack occurred, but never made a connection to the defendant. The hospital report, however, discussed him injuring his left arm when he was breaking into a window - every indication was that he was in fact left handed. This kind of tipped things for me, there was a lot of issues and “reasonable doubt” was a key concern, but we had a good discussion and a couple of more votes before all were in agreement on guilty. There were a lot of issues, and I often wondered if the defense attorney public defender knew he was guilty and let things in that we were able to view in deliberations.

I hope the jury is going to take their time and come to the correct conclusion that there is definitely reasonable doubt in this case. Much more than reasonable doubt. But hopefully consideration will help quell the anger as not being too quick a decision for innocence. Frankly a verdict late Friday night could be disastrous - much better Monday mid-morning so things settle down through daylight hours.

Yep... you know... seriously... its one thing to say “throw em in jail”. Its completely different thing to be on a jury holding some person’s future in your hands. It was really sobering, or a little frightening. But on about the 4th day it became an open and shut case. I mean there was zero doubt at all. And I remember feeling really really relieved.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the John Cage defense?

John Cage was an odd composer. One of his works was a piece consisting of 4 minutes and 33 seconds of silence.

In the Zimmerman trial, MoM had presented the jury with 4 minutes of silence, the amount of time that whereabouts were unaccounted for.

I know a prosecutor in Atlanta who believes that the PROSECUTION may have selected the jury to actually get a not guilty verdict. He said they knew the case was that bad. That was an interesting take.

These are women...They like clocks. That's why we like to bake cookies and everyone sits down for dinner at 6 PM.

I say 6 o'clock!! The evidence list (as part of their inquiry)is a red herring at this point.

Well, we are seeing only what the media/camera shows us at the moment and you/me have never gone through what he has gone through already and still going through and what’s up ahead that he will have to go through - that’s all on his mind.

So we have no idea/no knowledge to what extent our body shuts down that even an itch we can’t feel. So while he may appear robo like, I believe it’s a survival thing that the body does on it’s own and nothing deliberate from him although we know he’s, basically, a quiet and more humble type of guy.

A guilty person has a better chance at surviving what has been done to him than a total good person helping others and then a ‘race’ and the gov’t and the media is now his enemy and wants him locked up and being threatened to be killed for over a year and will be the rest of his life. And now it’s his turn and he gets a judge who is unprofessional and biased.

His health will suffer as over the years the massive amount of stress he took in gets released. Our bodies weren’t made for that type of stress. So how he responds to it is merely survival. I see tears which are phoney from many - so I choose not to read someone in the middle of their mountain of stress for I’m not walking in their shoes and can’t assume to know how I/my body will react.

While he’s such a strong and good person, if he is convicted and an appeal isn’t forthcoming soon, I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t think of suicide. In jail, he would have to be in solidarity or beaten to death. Could you keep hope alive for 25 or 30 years 24/7 considering who you will be surrounded by including the wardens. Don’t compare him with what we know as ‘normal’ - his body is in a way different place.

I can’t help but think, what ‘white cracker’ will be next to go through this - for the precedent has been set for allowing this trial to take place in the first place without a grand jury. Your gov’t at work in what it ‘allows’ now. The cops had no say - they dismissed them - for their ‘own’ justice.

how did the series\hugh meme start here anyhow?

Typsos.

They were typographical errors by busy posters in the heat of the moment. One of the great internet expressions not is to "be Pwned." That's owned, as in severly beaten in an argument, as in "He Pwned him!"

Does ANYONE have any insight and info into the makeup and possible biases of the jury? (OJ Simpson won his trail the instant the all-minority jury was sworn in.)
