Obama: Planet Will ‘Boil Over' If Africans Are Allowed Cars and Air-Conditioning

(CNSNews.com) – President Barack Obama said at a town hall event in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Saturday that unless we find new way of producing energy "the planet will boil over" if people in Africa are allowed to attain air conditioning, automobiles and big houses.
“Ultimately, if you think about all the youth that everybody has mentioned here in Africa, if everybody is raising living standards to the point where everybody has got a car and everybody has got air conditioning, and everybody has got a big house, well, the planet will boil over -- unless we find new ways of producing energy.”
The president’s comments, made the day before unveiling his “Power Africa” initiative for a “sustainable” African energy strategy, came while speaking at University of Johannesburg-Soweto.
According to Obama, global warming constitutes “the biggest challenge we have environmentally,” one greater than all other environmental calamities like “dirty water, dirty air.”
However, the President’s statements do not reflect statistics released by the United Nations: Based on a data released in October, 2012, the World Health Organization estimated that “Global warming” is responsible for approximately 140,000 excess deaths each year.
By comparison, as many as three million people died from indoor and outdoor air pollution – in other words, over 20 times the number of alleged victims of global warming, according to the Word Health Organization.
The list of victims of unclean drinking water is even more staggering.

This is the typical liberal mindset. These people would condemn entire populations to live in abject poverty and death to cling to some idiotic theory about the climate.
Hell they did it to Africa with the ban on DDT why not this too.
I take that back. The man is not stupid nor does he refuse to see the reality of "global change". He has his Marxist beliefs and will stand by them come high water, which he said he would stop...haha! BTW, is there any reports of islands being swamped due to Artic ice melt? Anyone?

The Middle East is blowing up, but he got a Peace Prize for his early rhetoric when he did nothing. I mean absolutely nothing!. But then we all know that particular prize is political and worthless. At this pace, I don’t know if Africans would ever be allowed cars and air-conditioning. I mean, environmentalist always move the goal posts. There will never be an energy source that is both viable and actually please the Left.
The key words...... are allowed....... so is someone denying them cars and AC?

well, I would guess people like Michael Bloomberg and Elliot spitzer are the puppet masters. for example, if you could reduce the white Christian population to rags, ol’ Elliot would accomplish two things. one, they’ll never be another holocaust, and two, just like brazil, where the ultra rich travel by helicopter and land on roof tops, Elliot and mr Bloomberg could avoid the great unwashed, and at the same time Elliot could have his $5000 a night hookers without fear of arrest because in a banana republic the uber rich own the police.
Well gee, ”everybody" would have to include, among others the Chinese, who certainly are headed toward those high living standards faster than the Africans. Good luck with slowing down China, Mr. Obama...
Is this statement in support of refusing to ratify the Kyoto Treaty, because it exempts China and India?
Why tell Africa that they have to be held back, while supporting India and China's rapid improvement in living standards?
And to the point that "the planet will boil over," let me say that if that gets even close to happening, we'll just "tip over" Guam to reduce it back to a low simmer.
