Reporter Matthew DeLuca slandered Zimmerman; now at NBC (vanity)

There are of course many lies that the media have circulated about the Trayvon Martin case, and among them is one put out by a Daily Beast writer, Matthew DeLuca, that says George Zimmerman was so racist he once called police to report a 7-9 year old black boy as suspicious. During the uproar last year, many people screaming on the internet for Zimmerman's arrest brought that "fact" up, but it was a complete and seemingly shameless lie by DeLuca, who works now, ironically, for NBC News. The fact that he could put forward and get away with such a lie, which played a small but definite part in the hysteria, really shows the degenerate and dishonest state of the media today.

DeLuca wrote two stories, both posted March 22, 2012, about George Zimmerman's 911 call history. In both cases, he suggests that the record of the call about the boy suggests Zimmerman was suspicious of him and it was because of his race. This is despite the fact that the outside sources DeLuca links to in the story - a Seminole County list of codes for emergency calls, and the call record generated by the police department in this instance - both together clearly show that Zimmerman called because he was concerned that the boy was walking alone on a busy street. Here is DeLuca's reporting on the call in one of the articles:

"But starting in 2011, Zimmerman’s calls increasingly focused on what he considered “suspicious” characters walking around the neighborhood—almost all of whom were young black males.

"On April 22, 2011, Zimmerman called to report a black male about “7-9” years old, four feet tall, with a “skinny build” and short black hair. There is no indication in the police report of the reason for Zimmerman’s suspicion of the boy."

To the contrary. There is actually no legitimate reason for DeLuca to say that Zimmerman was suspicious of the boy. Although written in an abbreviated form, the police report clearly states that the boy was walking along a busy street and Zimmerman was concerned.

In the second article, "George Zimmerman's History of 911 Calls: A Complete Log," DeLuca categorizes the call as about "suspicious activity":

His source for categorizing all the calls is the Seminole County 10-Codes and Signals page, which he links to. In the other article, he links to a now-removed page where Sanford Police had posted Zimmerman's call history.

That history shows that the code for the call wasn't the code number for "suspicious activity" (13), but the number 17, which means "Attempt to contact," which the call record shows the police tried to do. Note also that DeLuca quotes from the call record: "Juvenile black male “apprx 7–9” years old, four feet tall “skinny build short blk hair” last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and blue shorts."

After looking over the evidence, there can be no question that DeLuca fabricated this claim about Zimmerman consciously and deliberately. The only question is why. In any case, it is travesty that his lie has gone unpunished and he has moved on to NBC News.

Third News Network Admits to False Reporting on George Zimmerman

The first was NBC, which admitted doctoring a 911 tape. This is not an accident that takes place in the hustle and bustle of putting together a newscast.

Then all of a sudden ABC decides that they're gonna enhance the video, and they say that they strip a layer away -- this is police video, by the way, now -- and that all of a sudden, lo and behold, there is evidence of injury on the back of George Zimmerman's head.

Now it is CNN saying that after enhancing the audio of Zimmerman's 911 call, they don't think he used a racial slur after all.

The Lynch Mob Media achieved its purpose. It whipped up a frenzy of racial hatred to promote its leftist agenda. Now they're doing a few "oops" corrections to try and save some credibility with the gullible. Only a fool would buy anything they peddle after this.

I’ve watched most of this show trial. I believe that Zimmerman will testify and at the end of the day he will be found not guilty. Not guilty by reason of insanity, the insanity of lawyer Crump who Al Sharpton/Brawley like trumped this whole thing up, the insanity of Travon Marton who was a sick little b@stard, the insanity of all sorts of politicians including Florida Gov. Scott who is a real prick for going around the grand jury process so he does not lose the black vote. You can include the insanity of most of the media and especially the insanity of the parents of Travon Martin who did not give a damn about where he was or what he was doing. Also the insanity of the American taxpayers for pouring trillions in to urban areas and in to the pockets of blacks many of who will never be productive, partially because they are on modern day plantations constructed and run by Democrats. Democrats voted in by an American electorate who would be some insane to elect and then re-elect Travon Martin as a grown up in the form of someone called Barack Obama, a person who is mad as a hatter himself and totally lacks the ability to think as an American because he never was one.

George Zimmerman will take the stand and turn this whole thing on its head. He will be found not guilty and unless he is insane he will sue all these SOB’s that attempted to gut his life for no reason at all other than cash, power and votes.

That's correct, but either way Zimmerman will have a good case. NBC (against whom Zimmerman has the clearest case) will try to dodge using the "celebrity exception" by claiming Zimmerman is a celebrity and therefore must prove malice, which is a higher bar than just us peons. Two things wrong with that: NBC clearly demonstrated malice when it edited tapes to "prove" Zimmerman is a racist, and secondly, NBC created his "celebrity" status in the first place when they called him a racist.

Zimmerman is going to need that settlement money because he's going to have the crap sued out of him by the Martin family if he's acquitted. He will still have civil liability because he didn't go the Stand Your Ground route. I can see why he didn't, after watching this heavily biased "judge/prosecutor" in action. She would never have given him a fair hearing on that.

My take is the media mob WANTS rioting and general craziness if Zimmerman is found not guilty. That boosts ratings and sells papers. So even though anyone paying attention knows the prosecution has been an absolute disaster, they tell the low-information viewer that, "Boy, that prosecution is doing an INCREDIBLY GREAT job! Zimmerman's going to be convicted for sure!" Thus, if Zimmerman is acquitted, the low-information viewer goes apoplectic: "This was a slam-dunk for the prosecution! The fix is in! Where's my baseball bat???"

The James Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies has sort of become a primer for today's "journalism." Why wait around for things to happen when you can make them happen yourself?
