A plan to strengthen border security measures in the bipartisan immigration bill easily passed the Senate Monday.

In a 67-27 vote, 15 Republican senators joined most Democrats to end debate on an amendment by GOP Sens. Bob Corker of Tennessee and John Hoeven of North Dakota.

once NM AZ get their Hispanics into power , they will then bring in more Mexicans who in turn will vote to leave the union and join Mexico and pass laws which does nto reflect America, like Spanish first in the schools.

We will see whites moving out to TX and the break up of America starts and if that were the case then I’d rather see the north east leave first because without that area we would have a much better America

Mark Kirk was one of the 15 Senators who voted with the RATs to end debate.

Looks like I was vindicated when I said his earlier "conservative" vote not to bring immigration to a floor vote was either because A) He's recovering from a stroke and got confused, thinking he was voting YES to bring amnesty to the Senate floor, or B) He wants the bill sent back to the committee because it's not pro-illegal ENOUGH for his tastes.

Wish I had time to figure out who was given cover that will be up for re-election in 2014.

Cornyn himself would be a good start, as well as McConnell. One disappointing report about McConnell's chances of being primary challenged is Rand Paul, his junior Senator colleague, just endorsed McConnell for 2014 and said he would not back a Tea Party challenge to McConnell. It would be disappointing if Ted Cruz were to do that for Cornyn here in Texas.

I have never thought a third party is needed. I believe a new Conservative party must be formed. With the Internet and an energized base, it should be easier to accomplish.

I can't stand the GOP any longer. They are traitors to our Constitution.

I want the GOP to die. I want the party destroyed and humiliated.

Rove, the Bushes, the arrogant elites in D.C. want above all to screw Conservatives -- they don't care that the Republic is destroyed as a result.

Conservatives need to acknowledge that the GOP is DEAD.

Well obviously, America is no longer a representative republic. At least, not when it comes to anyone but hard-core leftists being represented.

That ‘Obama fundamental transformation’ has taken effect. Missing Bush yet?

I am surprised Chambliss and Isakson are not on there.
Of course, those slimeballs DID help it get out of committee.

...hope the payoff was good.

Oh, I'm sure it was. Another FReeper mentioned earlier that TARP funds are still available...likely as paybacks to these TRAITORS!

The vote was 67-27 so only 94 voted. Do you have a list of the 6 who did not vote?

Why is Kirk listed there? He’s that brain-damaged Democrat from Illinois, isn’t he?
Wait... Is he still masquerading as a “Republican”? Seriously?

And most of the rest would have voted YES if they could have gotten away with it.....

It would be disappointing if Ted Cruz were to do that for Cornyn here in Texas.”

This is surely going to be interesting. At the local Lincoln Day dinner all the Republican dignitaries showed up, were introduced and most were on the program, including many from Austin. Cornyn is the golden hair boy of most of this group - as was Kay Bailey. Notably absent at the dinner was Cruz. Quite frankly, I doubt if they invited him.

I think whether Cruz supports Cornyn or not is going to depend on whether Cornyn is primaried and, if so, by whom or whether Cornyn wins the primary and is running against a strong Democrat.

Could end up being like Sarah Palin not really endorsing Romney. Cruz appears to measure his words carefully and whether speaking from a prepared text or off the cuff always seems to come up with just the right words.

McConnell ought to just retire. Of course, if he does, I think Cornyn is the heir apparent for his leadership post. It’s his turn - don’t you know! Paul moves one step forward and two back. He’s just not dependable.

Portman has to be afraid of the grassroots out there and nothing else.

It has nothing to do with his heartfelt convictions.

At least he came out and said he now supports gay marriage so people know where he honestly stands on that.

I’m seriously beginning to wonder if Lindsay Graham is even going to run for re-election next year. By rabidly supporting full-fledged amnesty, I’m having a difficult time seeing how he can win in a deeply conservative state during an off-year election. Even if he can pull in all kinds of money from the RNC as a RINO establishment favorite, how is he not committing pure political suicide here???

There needs to be a double pronged strategy that runs real conservative candidates in GOP primaries and have third party candidates ready to go if the RINO wins the GOP primary.

That’s how they do it.

The leaders find out who can vote YES and who can vote NO and enough YES votes are recruited to pass the legislation.

In this case they wanted more than 2/3rd’s and they got 68 on board with 15 GOP votes.

The rest were given the opportunity to vote NO to save their political hides with the folks back home.

Watch Boehner do this to get the bill passed in the House later on......
