The FBI saw enough merit in a reputed Mafia captain’s tip to once again break out the digging equipment in search of the elusive remains of former Teamsters union leader Jimmy Hoffa, last seen alive when he left for lunch with two mobsters 38 years ago.
Federal agents brought excavation equipment Monday to a field in suburban Detroit where Tony Zerilli said Hoffa’s remains were buried.
Zerilli, 85, told Detroit television station WDIV in February that he knew the location of the remains. …

The FBI will dig for Hoffa (probably as a favor to his union thug son) but haven’t asked TEA party members about the crimes they have had committed against them. This is a big middle finger to us.

Hoffa was murdered by the Mob (Giacalone family) in Detroit and his remains are probably part of I-75 in Detroit, that's it.
He knew too much, had too much dirt on everybody else (including J. Edgar Hoover, who died in ‘72) and interestingly enough was eliminated (in 1975) before the HSCA could call him as a witness as they conducted a reinvestigation into the JFK assassination in 1976.
He was killed not just for the JFK/RFK connection but for many other reasons as well.
I am not making the linkage to the JFK case just in order to invent yet another, deeper conspiracy theory.
The Mob was involved in many “hits” including JFK's. Hoffa and the Kennedy brothers did not get along especially when RFK (as Attorney General) was putting intense heat on the Teamsters, Mob, AFL-CIO, UAW and the Teamster Truckers in the early 60’s.
Hoffa hated them and knew who killed them both, therefore, he had to go too.

One thing I have learned from studying the Mob (and other criminal syndicates) is that they don’t follow reason. That’s why it was so dangerous to hang around them.

Henry Hill claimed he knew where dozens of bodies were buried(all hits) and there only turned out to be a handful. Witness Protection is full of ex-mobsters.
