Former Florida governor Jeb Bush (R) argued Wednesday that the United States should pass immigration reform because the U.S. economy needs the labor of young immigrants, and immigrants are “more fertile.”
“Immigrants create far more businesses than native-born Americans,” Bush said at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to the Majority conference. “Immigrants are more fertile, and they love families, and they have more intact families, and they bring a younger population. Immigrants create an engine of economic prosperity.”
Bush said immigrants are an advantage that the United States has over China, Europe and Japan, which don’t have the same immigrant tradition and are struggling to find young laborers.
“If we don’t do it, we will be in decline, because the productivity of this country is dependent upon young people that are equipped to be able to work hard,” Bush said.
Bush, whose wife is a Mexican-born immigrant, has long been an advocate for comprehensive immigration reform.

The problem with deportation upon contact with law enforcement is the punishment for murder/rape/theft/robbery/assault/child molestation is then decreased to deportation.
I am leaning towards a non-government solution. No allocated funds can be expended toward research or punishment of crimes committed against illegal aliens.

Good for you Windy! You are only as old as you feel! I still ‘work out’, (If ya can call it that....well, heck yeah I can call it that! I guess it is a work out!! I’m in better overall health right now than I was 30 years ago according to my last blood work up and yearly Phizzy.), daily with various exercises, (On a Chuck Norris ‘Total Gym’ inside in the winter time up here to keep the old bones moving), and a lot of wood splitting by maul and wedge, no powered splitting, and hiking in the warmer months. Up in the mountains is one heck of a great place to stay in shape! I have a lot of other hobbies, (Everything firearms!), also but the first and most important is to stay as healthy as possible. So you are agreeing with him. I don’t know anything about Barbara Streisand’s family or lack of but it does not matter that you can point to specific white people who are not family oriented. Nobody likes to be painted with a broad brush when the shoe’s on the other foot though do they. The white race is about the only one you can put down publicly and not be guilted into feeling bad about it (white trash, redneck, elitist). If we can stereotype one race then we can do it for all. If we are going to put down as fact that Mexicans are family oriented by virtue of their ethnicity then what can be said is built into the genetics of the black, white, asian races given their cultures? This country was built by a HARD WORKING majority white people. It became the greatest in the world, by most people’s standards. Therefore how can anyone say that white people have not worked hard? Who were the farmers, the construction workers, engineers, scientists? What do the immigrants do that white Americans have not done in the past before the immigrants came over and took those jobs? My father had a landscaping business for 15 years and employed quite a few white teens. My first job was Burger King. Our cities were filled with blue collar workers and a lot of them were...white. I’m not trying to put down the Hispanic race because there are many good people of course but I’m tired of us being put down.
The government has always kept census. I don’t personally keep track of stats I just happened across that article and it fits with the discussion a bit. And I don’t like to feel like I don’t even belong in my native country. It’s unnerving to go places and be one of the only few white faces in the crowd after you’ve grown up being the majority and feeling like your culture is the same as most of your neighbors. Other immigrants in the past assimilated more so when they came here. Or at least tried. This new crop wants us to bend over backwards for THEM and yes I do resent that.

Are you really insinuating that they don’t have abortions? Have you spent time around abortion clinics? If not, go every day for a week and count the brown, black and white faces. Tally it up and then get back to me. And if it turns out that white women do commit more murders in the womb then you can say I told ya so. Then you can go into the prisons and do the same tally and tell me who murders more outside the womb.

Abortions/year = about 1 million.
Murders outside account for about 1 percent of the total, and for our purposes here - absolutely irrelevant.
What I am asserting is that white people - and especially white people are choosing to contracept (something you ignored in my post), and choosing to have abortions, and they are choosing not to have children at all. This is why they are being replaced by those who are choosing to have children.
Do hispanic folks have abortions? Sure. But they contracept less and abort less, and are more likely to actually have children.
And yes, I have spent time around abortion clinics. The reality is that I could go up to the average woman here and have a pretty good chance that she’s had an abortion. Especially if she is single and my age.
I will tell you something - that really sucks for the dating scene dealing with post-abortal issues in single women with no kids. It really does screw them up for life and I don’t see much talking about this.

Streisand is an example of a ‘progressive white woman’, a following that is huge. I’d use Oprah, but she’s not white. Streisand is an example of a very large section of the US - white progressive women who supported Obama. Is she ‘family oriented’? No. Is she representative of this section of the population and what they believe? Yes.

I am white, very white myself. And I think my criticism of this segment of white people is quite accurate.

They are family-oriented by virtue of their culture, just as white progressive women like Barbra Streisand are not family oriented due to the influences of their culture.

I’ll be blunt, it was built by Hard working Christians. Not by secular progressives like Streisand. Folks who worked hard, got married, stayed married, had children, raised children. These are the folks that built America.
White folks need to go back to what has worked for America, and eschew progressive behaviours like those of Streisand, progressive culture that is rotting us out from the inside.

I never said they haven’t worked hard. They have worked hard. What I am saying is that secular progressivism has rotted the core of this away. Things like welfare, income tax, etc have all worked to give an incentive to not working and taking away the incentive to work. Was it hispanic people that passed these laws? No. It was lily white folks. So, if our history is that we built America, what are modern folks supposed to think about White people in the last 100 years?
Can you go back and look at our legislative track record in that time and say that we’ve done a good job? We’ve just about lost the last of the folks that can even remember a time before Wilson what the world was like then. We’ve already lost those who were adults before Wilson. So there is no dissenting voice as to what life used to be like. Soon we’ll be able to say the same thing about social security.
