(CHICAGO)
(snip)
Former U.S. Ambassador John Bolton told Bruce Wolf and Dan Proft on WLS that he thinks admitted leaker Edward Snowden, is guilty of treason:
"Number one, this man is a liar. He took an oath to keep the secrets that were shared with him so he could do his job. He said said he would not disclose them, and he lied. Number two, he lied because he thinks he's smarter and has a higher morality than the rest of us. This guy thinks he has a higher morality, that he can see clearer than other 299-million 999-thousand 999 of us, and therefore he can do what he wants. I say that is the worst form of treason".

Why doesn't John go after Ubama?
Someone else also took an oath.
To support and DEFEND the Constitution...
LLS
By his argument nobody should ever question the government. Following the chain of command to expose improprieties when you government is large and out of control is the equivalent of pissing into the wind.
I saw Bolton on Fox yesterday and was so appalled by him that I now consider him to be a “formerly solid” conservative.
He’s given his life, his fortunes, and his honor to get this information out to the people. In my mind, he’s a hero.
REMEMBER ED SNOWDEN!
If govt is doing something illegal, you have a duty to report it.
Obama, congress and scotus have all demonstrated that we only need to follow the laws we like.
Quite possibly this one issue will finally really define the lines between the statists and the constitutionalists.
Wait, so we were all consulted about this and collectively decided to keep the fact that we were spying on ourselves a secret? Mr. Bolton's logic is usually better than this.
I saw the same thing.
He’s with the establishment, ie: McCain, Graham on this one.
This will separate the freedom lovers from the one world government types.
I generally like Bolton, but this highlights the problem with big powerful governments and their agents. They become bigger than the people. They throw up the smokescreen of calling Snowden a traitor. But they don’t address that the NSA and other agencies are increasingly ignoring the 4th amendment. What security in our effects is there if they have unimpeded access to all our phone and online communications?
It seems from my reading of FR, various blogs, and MSM articles from both the left and the right that many, many Americans see just as clearly and have a higher morality than a lot of Republicans have shown over the last two days.
I don’t have enough detail to call this guy a hero or traitor but I just can’t get worked up against someone who’s main accusation seems to be that he alerted the American people that their government is spying on them 24/7. I still can’t find the logic in the governments assertion that this is old news, everyone already knew about it but we need to put the guy who disclosed it to the public in jail for treason.
If we’re talkin’ treason, let’s start with the Obamadork, who has no traceable past, who manages to lie without even speaking, who has never had a real job evah, and is the sleaziest, most corrupt, stupid, venal and septic piece of excrement extant in the multiverse.
He defines slime, putridness, feces, and all things vile.
This entire Administration is a Domestic enemy and a complete perversion of the Federal government outlined in our Constitution.
Excellent point.
“Unreasonable search and siezure” means nothing to Mr. Bolton?
