Glenn Greenwald: I have more secrets to reveal
Washington Examiner ^ | June 9, 2013 | Charlie Spiering

Posted on 06/09/2013 4:02:12 PM PDT by RobinMasters

On ABC’s ‘This Week,’ journalist Glenn Greenwald explained that Americans could expect him to reveal more secrets about the government surveillance programs.

Greenwald wrote two bombshell stories last week in the Guardian newspaper – one about the National Security Agency obtaining phone records from Verizon customers and one about the agency’s PRISM program.

“[S]hould we be expecting more revelations from you?” asked Stephanopoulos.

“You should,” Greenwald answered shortly.

Greenwald remained quiet about his sources, reminding Stephanopoulos about the importance of whistle-blowers.

I have this nagging question that I want to put forward to those with like thinking minds:

We all know about word recognition software like Dragon. Many people use it to type their comments on the Free Republic by just talking into a microphone. There is software available to take the spoken word in one language and translate it to English.

So, lets say that all the phone conversations either by cell phone or land line were recorded and put into a voice recognition software and then stored as text. You could put a great deal of conversation on storage if it was in text. And, the storage capability is growing exponentially. Once in text form, you would also have the ability to do text searches using key words and other intelligent word searches using sophisticated software.

I believe it is true that the government does not actively listen to conversations. The huge number of phone conversations daily would make the storage of them impossible. I believe that it first converts conversations to text. Then, it searches conversations using computer technology. This is not active listening because it is in text form and may avoid the legal definition of wire tapping. I am no lawyer to know if it is wire tapping for sure. However, once conversation is identified as having possible illegal activity, the court process is used to bring up all the text material from the source telephone.

Am I correct in this idea?

I think so, but take it one step further. Cross referencing this stored data with the megadata that is said to be captured by PRISM and you are we be able to link the conversation with the #s and locations at the time of the conversation.

No way we can know if this is true. Greenwald must keep his story, his brand, alive...even if he is just faking it in the meantime.

I'm no fan of Greenwald, but are you claiming that what he's divulged so far is inconsequential?

Nope. My comment only addresses his promise of additional information.

My guess is that next we will learn that it's not just metadata, but everything that goes over a wire or through the air is recorded and washed through algorithms for keywords.

The last shoe will be what those keywords are. We will then know why Justice Roberts changed his vote on Obamacare.

Uh-oh!

Will Noah Vosen put the asset in the nest? Will Jason Bourne try to meet Mr. Greenwald at Waterloo Station to save him? Was Blackbriar really an NSA program to spy on Americans and not some trained assassin program? And what did Nicky mean when she said it was hard for her, with him?

Ultimately it doesn't matter whether the conversations are recorded and then transcribed or just transcribed in real time.

All the above takes up just a little space.

With current technology, only digital transcriptions can be searched (to my knowledge). In the near future...who knows?

The issue of all this is, does the President have access to this information in any form?

If Obama has access to personal conversations and information...you can bet he will use it. That's the Chicago way.

I think you are correct.

If I were a corrupt Marxist President...I would be using the system to the max.

As a follow-up, I think John Roberts was intimidated into his opinion.

Perhaps not directly by Obama, but by one of his puppet masters.

I agree with Rush...we are in the middle of a coup.

That’s how he got started, unsealing his opponent Ryan’s divorce records.

Exactly...why would he forget that lesson?

Obama is scum. He will do whatever he can with whatever info he can get.

Anyone in Congress who doesn't see that can be counted among the enemy!

Tag line material.

The Barack Hitler -

I rarely use “black” anymore

How did that ignorant NAZI-MUSLIM moron think he could keep everyone quiet and obedient?

-

Robert Redford picked “3 DAYS OF THE CONDOR” to broadcast on his “SUNDANCE CHANNEL” last night

Obama has EVEN lost - Robert Redford now

- from the last lines of the movie:

Spook to Condor/Redford:

“So you told the New York Times.....

But will they print it?”

- Now the Washington Post has “printed it”

Bob Woodward said they would recently

“ALL THE PRESIDENT’S TRAITORS”

- Sounds like a book or a movie -
