Let's support these organizations.

For boys' sake.

For God's sake.

Excellent list!

Here’s another group you might like to add: http://www.northstarexplorers.org/

I am particularly impressed with KEPHA’s focus on apologetics. Absolutely vital for young Christians to be well versed in apologetics for the future expansion of the faith.

Let the Boy Scouts spiral into obscurity, another thing that sexual victim politics ruined. Maybe kids will start to get the subliminal message that the homosexual lobby come to destroy.

The Law of Unintended Consequences kicks in. It was “unexpected”.

Great news. Those Christian organizations that have been supporting the BSA need to drop them like a hot potato. No more money, no more use of facilities, no more fundraisers, no more involvement - cold turkey. Same with private citizens - check your United Way (or other employer charity-of-choice) contribution and make sure none of it is going to BSA.

The libs have been planning for this for years and will soon step in and zombify the BSA into something like the Girl Scouts - leading youth to evil. If we all get out ASAP they will have to step in faster than planned - never hurts to make Satan divert funds from other endeavors sooner than expected.

It cannot be a non-profit 501(c)3. Otherwise, we are under government regulation and pressure in the years to come. We must avoid influence from lobbyists and governmental powers to compromise (as has happened with the BSA). Where there is no money, there is less pressure. .

Very wise.

It may make it more expensive and harder to organize but it will help keep the government out of your decisions.

As long as they promote virtue and Christ more than Rome, I’m all in favor of this movement. But if it’s all about “home to Rome,” then meh ...

Thanks so much for posting this. I know one alternative for the Girl Scouts I support is American Heritage Girls:

In two previous posts

and

The first posting links a decision by the Catholic National Committee on Scouting to support the BSA decision.

I point out the BSA is composed of separate councils These are some ideas is what I feel can be done including the KC’s forming their own council or organizing a youth group on scouting similar to what the late Bishop Bernard Shields did with organizing the CYO.

Excellent to see!

When I was a kid, the Masons (yeah, I know) had a youth organization called the Order of Demolay and a girls equivalent called Jobs Daughters.

“DeMolay has seven Cardinal Virtues, which constitute the basic ideals and essential teachings of the organization. They are:

Filial love (love between a parent and child)
Reverence for sacred things
Courtesy
Comradeship
Fidelity
Cleanness
Patriotism”

Freemasonry aside, that’s some pretty good stuff right there. I read that it’s only got 15,000 members in the US and I haven’t heard of a chapter in years, but maybe they ought to step up to the plate.

4H is another great organization out here in flyover country, and deserves support.

The Boy Scouts want to embrace sodomy and perversion, fine - let them find out what BS really is.

I'm kind of rooting for OnMyHonor.net. Because I think it has the potential to draw from all denominations and be what the Boy Scouts were.

The other organizations mentioned, I'm sure are fine organizations worthy of support. The article mentioned Catholic organizations. The SBC has Royal Ambassadors, the Assemblies of God has Royal Rangers. And there are interdenominational organizations such as Awana.

But these are more faith and evangelism centered organizations than survival skills or scouting centered. And while we need faith and evangelism, these organizations will be more fragmented with each denomination going their own way, as they have in the past. They are about faith and not primarily about scouting.

Each has their place. But when it comes to Scouting, I'm hoping that OnMyHonor puts together an organization focused on Scouting that quickly relegates the Boy Scouts to a number 2 position and shows the world that embracing homosexuality over traditional values is an out of business strategy.

Thank you for this excellent post. Tomorrow, our local Knights of Columbus Council will be discussing the various options to the sadly deficient BSA that are available to us for sponsorship. This list of groups who hold to Catholic morality is very welcome.

Not to sound like a jerk, I thought Kepha/ Cephas Kephas/ was Aramaic for Rock. Petros is Greek For Rock. That is what we tell the protestants when practicing apologetics.

Amen!

I haven't talked to the scout leaders in my parish, but I am curious as what their next step is in regarding the scouts.

I'll pass this information along.
