My oldest son was a Royal Ranger, daughter was in missionettes.
One in Rangers, three in Missionettes. Good programs. Wished that all four could be in Rangers.
But everything behind the trenches is a different story.
Good for the Baptists!
Your right....sadly for all of us.
They never cared about scouting. They pretented to so they could work to destroy it from the inside. The main goal all along was to destroy the BSA since it was a traditional American organization and it opposed them.
********************************************************************
I think their goal was not to completely destroy it, but to destroy it as a wholesome, straight organization. They now have it positioned to gradually transform it into a “grooming” organization to transform straight boys into progressive, compliant potential recruits for adult NAMBLA types. It will become a joke to the “morally straight” unfortunately.
Some “mainline” Protestant churches have become apostate and have accepted sin in their ranks - see Episcopal, ELCA, PCA, United Methodist, et al.
****************************************************************
Please don’t include the PCA in your list of the apostate. The PCA is an “orthodox” Presbyterian denomination that broke away from the Presbyterian (U.S.A.) because the PCUSA was diverging from biblical beliefs and practices & has become apostate.
Thanks for that good news.
Do. You won't regret it. I took the plunge a few years back after being unchurched for forty years (cradle Episcopalian of the Anglo-Catholic "branch"). The plunge in the Tiber is invigorating, to say the least.
Well, I can add one more. My son (a Star rank scout) is no longer participating in Boy Scouts, due to this decision. And I, an Eagle Scout and Assistant Scoutmaster, am no longer involved in scouts. Our troop is not chartered by a Southern Baptist church.
The really sad thing here is that the Boy Scout executives chose the almighty dollar over principles. They did a huge survey of parents and volunteers a few months ago, and the results were that almost two-thirds opposed this policy change. But the people who voted on allowing openly homosexual scouts were not the members and volunteers who took that survey. They were 1,400, mostly professional (paid), scouting executives. They were worried about their salaries. So they ignored the clear preference of their members, and voted to allow openly homosexual members.
That’s the last dollar they will ever get from me. And I’ll think twice about patronizing businesses who previously refused to support the scouts, but now will.
Same here.
And Ill think twice about patronizing businesses who previously refused to support the scouts, but now will.
huh?
My units are headed there.
I am an SM.
We’re holding parent meetings now to make an informed decision.
I have two sons who are affected. One is an Eagle grad. The other is First Class and a PL.
THE OTHER SHOE WILL DROP QUICKLY. THE RULING WILL EXTEND TO LEADERS.
(Praying)
This is Satan’s work. But he will not prevail. He was already defeated - long ago.
May God take what was intended for evil and make it for Good. May God be blessed by this because His faithful follow His Way and not the way of the world.
God is good - all the time.
We must be faithful. Hate the sin. Love the sinner with pure and unconditional love.
Amen
Uh, NO, Sweetie. Nice try. Knock everyone down by 1 as far as rank in membership. Apparently you are very ignorant. The Catholic church by far outnumbers all the others. And I notice you forgot all the Orthodox churches as well.
Good sense? Would you compromise on homosexuality?
It is OVER for the Boy Scouts. I once dreamed of my boy making Eagle. Now, the Boy Scouts are off the table. I hope someone, somewhere, will aggregate these thoughts and make them known to the BSA.
Cool! But what about Jewish boys?
Stuartcr, is that you?
What does it cost to have a boy in the Scouts? Isn’t it expensive for middle-class people?
It amounts to cutting off you nose to spite your face.
There is no need to abandon that which is good because of change. That is the cowards way.
Loyal and brave are characteristics of scouts, but apparently not of Baptists
