She really was a terrific actress. She was blessed to have gone after a long, successful life.

Stapleton was the daughter of a billboard advertising salesman and an opera singer.

I'd always heard that she could really sing. It takes a lot of talent and skill to deliberately sing off-key as she did in the pro-logue/epilogue of the All in the Family show.

I despised that series as a young man, it was pure, heavy handed propaganda and effective for the left as they introduced many such forms of reality reshaping media to change the image of the American man, the American home, the American family, the American mother and father, to the public.
