They should send Rosen to attend.

Too bad. I was hoping they would attend and then ignore the OTR requirement.

Must have been tempting, since Fox isn’t often invited to these closed-door, back-scratching events. In fact, I think this would have been a first.

I wonder — when in a private meeting like this one will be, are people threatened? Is that why they are private, to hide the bullying?

I would suggest that someone on the right should be there.

Otherwise the Left will spin as they please, and nobody will be able to explain how they got it wrong.

This just lets the Left control the news exclusively.

The question is whether or not the liberal press will make this a lead story. If not, it didn’t happen.

Brad Woodhouse of the DNC tweeted yesterday that any journalists who don't attend this meeting have basically forfeited their right to freedom of the press. Obama's policy: Your rights end where my political interests begin.

They ought to agree this is off the record, and then right after report everything the DOJ said.

Iirc, the NYT & AP have also opted out. Someone should keep a running record. Might be easier in the end to tally those willing to be used as toadies.

Fox news should hire Michael Savage for the day, and send HIM.

Forfeit their right to gripe? I think not.

If Holder tries to go after Fox for not attending he will open a can of worms he will wish he left closed. I see another scandal on the horizon.

LOL!
Holder invited Fox News? For “off the record” nonsense?

It reminds me of the final episodes of ‘The Shield’ where the US Attorney offers Vic complete immunity from all crimes he may have committed in exchange for his testimony about something else. But first Vic had to honestly list all of his crimes. So when Vic sits down in the interrogation room with a recorder to list all the crimes he committed he starts reeling off murder and all kinds of crimes the US Attorney had no idea about. But it was too late - - Vic now had immunity.

Holder just wants to spill stuff that the Democrat “mainstream” newsrooms would then have to sit on lest they breach “off the record” confidentiality.

Maybe they all thought the whole meeting was comprecious and invalid because:

AG Holder refused to answer questions put to him by Congress about the DOJ’s seizure of phone records from the Associated Press saying he had ‘recused’ himself.

But he never put it in writing and he never told anyone about it until he was called as a witness.

28 USC § 591requires the Attorney General to do so.

If reporters want to change the balance of power in news and information, they need to join Fox. They need to badger Holder for not being open about the scandals at DOJ and badger him for judge shopping and badger the judge who refused to protect the rights of media.

Otherwise, the government will harm reporters as “spies” at political whim. They are wrecking themselves if they don’t stand next to FOX. Bush could have done this to them. They are headed for serious trouble if they allow their pal Holder, to get away with what he did against the media’s constitutional free speech. It’s not going to be a one way street.

They will not recognize their profession in the aftermath of this attack on the rule of law if they don’t stand up. They are creating a future of a police state and as those from South America and Mexico know, with no constitution, in law or ethics, holding back corrupt and power hungry government officials, they are “progressing” to death squad politics and reporting.

They should think about the total loss of feminists in the aftermath of Clinton’s sex abuse case. Women are not protected from being sexually abused at work now. We have females of all ages who are brought over the border and enslaved to sex dealers right in our own country! Clinton was not worth losing the womens’ right not to be abused at work and made into sex slaves! Obama is not worth losing the constitutional rights we all have fought for since the beginning!
