Get the Viagra. Bob Dole is closed for repairs.

It's his party. The rino party has become what the GOP establishment set out to make it.
They are champions of progressive big government, their party a kinder, gentler (aka: stupid, ineffective) image of the demonrats.
Both parties are dedicated to turning US into the Beast of Revelation and both will go after anyone who threatens the Beast. They all wear its mark and seek to brand US as well.
Reagan was the only president since Coolidge to wound the Beast. All the rest beginning with Bush the elder have made it bigger and stronger, especially GWB and now obama.
Those are your people, Bob. You and the people behind you were the reason I quit the Republicans.

Dole hates it when you call him "the tax collector for the welfare state," so that's what I always call him.

Dole didn't welcome Reagan either. He ran against him in 1980.
Viagra Bob was a quisling's quisling, the very epitome of a Rino turncoat. McCain took lessons from him. Dole never hesitated to hoist the white flag to get good publicity.
One of the legends about Dole came with his first running for office. He allegedly visited the county courthouse and learned that Republicans outnumbered Democrats two to one in his area, and that was his reason for choosing the GOP.

"it lacks a vision and is unable to strike deals with Democrats" Compromise is vastly over rated.
In fact, the desire to make a compromise rather than stand on principle is largely responsible for most of the larger problems destroying the nation today.
Ayn Rand said it best:
"In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that can profit."

One of Reagan’s famous quotes was, “I didn’t leave the democrat party, they left me.” Somehow, I believe he would have something similar to say about the Republicans of today.

No he's all about he won and Republicans should compromise and here is Dole repeating that mantra which is why Dole lost! Why vote R if they will help Democrats advance policy by compromising???

the current GOP wouldnt welcome the likes of Ronald Reagan
As I understand it, when Reagan ran, the GOP wasn’t exactly welcoming towards him, either.

Never link to WAPOO, Slimes, and the enemy. They spice the news and their views with too much commuin. Dole’s suggestion is right on but his reasons ain’t.

Nixon, Ford, Dole, Bush, Bush, McCain, Romney.
Yeah, Dole—we just need more candidates like to you and your ilk to promote conservatism.
The early-years Newt had you pegged right—a bagman for the welfare state.
