While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming.
Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters.
So, you may have a question for me, Whitehouse said. Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care if we Republicans run off the climate cliff like a bunch of proverbial lemmings and disgrace ourselves? Ill tell you why. Were stuck in this together. We are stuck in this together. When cyclones tear up Oklahoma and hurricanes swamp Alabama and wildfires scorch Texas, you come to us, the rest of the country, for billions of dollars to recover. And the damage that your polluters and deniers are doing doesnt just hit Oklahoma and Alabama and Texas. It hits Rhode Island with floods and storms. It hits Oregon with acidified seas, it hits Montana with dying forests. So, like it or not, were in this together.

Somebody needs to just deck his ass out cold!!
Democrats are such vile creatures!!
Absolutely we can take turns!!
It is a religion to them.
Gaia is mad about global warming, so she sent tornadoes.
This man is an idiot. I would not waste my piss to put out a fire on his face. But this is a religion to him, and to many.
Though I wonder just who they are really worshiping.
President Bush would have already given a Oval Office telecast.
Always someone who doesn’t get the memo. It’s now global “COOLING” that we’re supposed to be concerned about.

He has a twitter account. I just tweeted him and called him a sick bas. I will probably get thrown off twitter now..but I don’t care!
Doesn’t he know there was “weather” before there were automobiles and factories?
It's coming to a fight. There is no doubt of it.
People who talk this way want us dead. They have motive and means, and they are working on opportunity.
Prepare.
My wife’s people were up to see us from Joplin, MO this past weekend and they had a picture book of the devastation from their tornado.
One man, a 35 year old National Guardsman, was found with his 5 year old daughter and infant son in his arms, trying to protect them. They all died.
This looks to be worse. I’m not in the mood for any Democrat BS.
Do the socialists want to take us soooo bad that they have to concoct weird theories like gloBULL warming? Just be honest little Bolsheviks and bring it.
Yeah he’s getting his ass handed to him on twitter..I just cannot figure out the liberal brain(Or what little brain they do have) they hear of a horrible event and the first thing they do, besides celebrate it, is politicize it..just once I want to see these jackasses on the left show some compassion, but I guess that will never happen because one must have a soul in order to show compassion
So the path the tornado took was caused by global warming?
That was one of the most idiotic, senseless statements ever made on the floor of the Senate...a Senate which is justly famed for idiotic, senseless statements.
No doubt he’s a raving moron.
But in this case he was trying to get Jim Inhoffe’s head to explode.
I’m sure Inhoffe and maybe Coburn will have a stinging rebuke of this @$$hat after the more important matters of loving on and praying for the people of their great state through the tragedy is over.
Many tornado disasters before Glo-bull warming here.

Since we now have global cooling, we all need to drive our cars more and burn more fossil fuel in order to prevent the earth from freezing over.
Though probably if you’re a democrat, both warming and cooling are caused by the oil companies and other capitalist entities.
I believe you're verifying what a fellow Freeper said in another thread.. "ITS GLOBAL CLIMATE VACILLATION!"
Scientists hint that global cooling is the new pollution risk
