Funny you should mention that...Bill Clinton tried to shut down the NWS Storm Prediction Center, based in Norman, OK, in an effort to “save money.” The SPC issues tornado watches for the nation and the National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) conducts research into severe weather. Both organizations were saved from closing by a Congressman named J.C. Watts.
Maybe he should get a job at the IRS. I hear they got agreat system over there.

From what I hear on the local news in that city several of those kids drowned in the basement of the school.
Thanks for the link. I was watching a live feed until it got cut off. This thing was nearly two miles wide and stayed on the ground for an entire hour. Unbelievable.

I grew up in tornado country, had them every year. You pretty much accept them and pay attention in the summer. Storms this strong are rare, thankfully.

My first experience with that about 4 yrs ago in Pryor OK visiting my aunt. On the way intro town there is a sign....TURN AROUND DON’T DROWN.....I said huh? Had to ask WTH? Cousin said it is a flash flood area or the creek runs over there or something like that, anyway water real fast and they have had people try to drive through it and drown. Saw some pretty funny road signs in that area.
We’d have to evacuate to Canada...

I’ll go back to shutting up now with my Monday Am quarterbacking. I don’t live there so I don’t understand.
