More utter cluelessness from IRS employees, plus, as a bonus, some "Good German" excuses for why the targeting of conservative groups happened.
And not one of them raised an alarm? Not one of them evenAs could be expected, the folks in the determinations unit on Main Street have had trouble concentrating this week. Number crunchers, whose work is nonpolitical, don't necessarily enjoy the spotlight, especially when the media and the public assume they're engaged in partisan villainy.
"We're not political,'' said one determinations staffer in khakis as he left work late Tuesday afternoon. "We people on the local level are doing what we are supposed to do. . . . That's why there are so many people here who are flustered. Everything comes from the top. We don't have any authority to make those decisions without someone signing off on them. There has to be a directive [emphasis added]."

Someone signed that Directive. Are you listening, Congressman Issa?
I had a friend whose wife worked at the IRS as an auditor, located in the Bible Belt (actual location withheld to protect the innocent). She mainly worked in business audits. She isn't pond scum at all. However, think geek: a numbers geek. She is an accountant, and is all about the numbers and the regulations; all day, every day. In talking with her, I got the impression that she never thought past the numbers and regulations; never thought about how what she did affected people, their businesses and their lives. She just didn't seem capable. Sort of odd... She knew what people thought about the IRS, but didn't seem to care much. Her attitude was someone had to do it, and it might as well be her. However, she was very aware of what was needed to keep her job and lucrative retirement. Was also all about doing what was needed to get ahead and stay ahead in the IRS. She knew she had it good, and wasn't about to jeopardize it.
If the Representatives asking him don't have any evidence to force him to admit it, he'll just deny it. They need to climb the ladder from the low level employees upward. Get the ones who actually turned down the tax exempt status for Tea Party groups to turn over memos and provide testimony against they bosses, then get them to turn on their bosses until you hit the top.
About the only thing you could get from directly asking your question today is the chance to nail him on perjury later.
Don't forget that George W Bush was responsible for everything that happened in Barry's first term. Why, that old meanie just wouldn't let go of the presidency, and kept running the country over Barry's head.
It took a second election to finally get that evil man to let the power go, and then what happens? Barry's underlings take over, and start running the country into the ground behind his back!
He's a victim, I tell ya.
Just imagine when their powers are extended to healthcare.
All roads lead to the WH and now Obama is working to add as many forks in the road as possible.
bttt
After all...
Be sure to give him the long form for other questions.
Kinda' feel sorry for them...kinda' don't
And, even more so if they throw their shoes at you.
Maybe take a picnic at Ft. Marcy park...
*snicker*
"You Can't Fire Me, I'm A Public Servant".
To back up the fellow ahead of you who only has thirty bullets, too......
Reminds me of country music song by Jerry Jeff Walker:
"... Just kicking hippies asses and raising hell..."

"Up Against The Wall Redneck Mother" You can hear Jerry Jeff sing the song from link above. Any song that mentions "Shiner Beer" is okay by me.<>P>
I believe this Texas gal's eyes are misting up. *sniff* "VIVA TERLINQUA FOREVER, ALL YOU REDNECK MOTHERS"
She sounds remarkably like the Germans who led the Jews to the gas chambers. Didn’t see them as humans and didn’t really think about what they were doing...you get inured to evil pretty quickly.
