James Carville: This is all over in 30 days By: Kevin Robillard May 16, 2013 11:57 AM EDT

Democratic strategist James Carville had some good news for President Barack Obama amid three controversies: It will all be over in a month.

Carville, who helped guide former President Bill Clinton through crises, on Thursday described Benghazi and the Justice Department’s decision to subpoena the Associated Press’ phone records as non-stories to start with and he predicted the IRS scandal would fizzle out within a month.

“These guys are awfully frustrated right now,” Carville said, referring to the GOP. “They’re taking the anger out, and I understand that. I think the White House has just go to live with this for 30 days, get the truth out and you know, just roll with the punches here. They’re down to swinging pretty wildly here.”

The Ragin’ Cajun said Republicans were focused on the IRS scandal because many of their political positions are being undercut by long-term trends.

“That’s what they’re down to,” Carville said. “Remember that the earth is warming, and that the economy is growing, the deficit is shrinking, that health care costs are flattening out, that Benghazi was nothing and as I said, there may be something amiss in the Cincinnati office of the IRS. If there is, we should find out about it and fix it and if somebody did something wrong, they should be fired or brought to justice.”

Yes, that’s right. If no one is talking about it isn’t happening and it never did happen.

Maybe if we had a senate and congress that took its functions seriously, there might be something, but we do not have either of those.

It’s going to be this is old news, we’re moving on, we have to do the business of the American people blah, blah, blah.

He is working toward that end. Never let an enemy back up after you get him down. No use to have him hit the ground without finishing him. More merciful for him, you and your team mates.

He who is the most committed wins. I am. I encourage conservatives to be, too.

Nope, he’s correct. The MSM will move on to the next crisis exploited by The One.

Corporal cueball carville is probably right. At least where the government controlled media is concerned.

He's right. Some on the left are outraged now. They'll get quieter over the next couple of weeks, and in four weeks they'll say it's no big deal. That's close to how it worked with Clinton.

Of course, this only works for Democrats.

The republicans are never going to grow a pair.

The GOP does not believe in conservatism or small government or anything of the sort.

“Benghazi was nothing “

If you don’t mind wading through the dead bodies. More people died there than in the Boston Marathon bombing.

“Remember that the earth is warming, and that the economy is growing, the deficit is shrinking, that health care costs are flattening out, that Benghazi was nothing and as I said, there may be something amiss in the Cincinnati office of the IRS. "

If this Cajun would do a little less ragin' a little more thinkin' he might know that the earth is not warming but cooling, today's numbers do not reflect healthy growth, the deficit is shrinking in the context of a ominous amount of quantitative easing by the fed which is a deficit entirely off the books, and the IRS scandal has already spread far beyond the Cincinnati office.

In a matter of a few months Obama care will strike both the economy and the personal lives of Americans and the reaction will not be pleasant for Barack Obama. The world economy is fragile and a misstep anywhere such as in tottering Europe, the planned economy of China, or the brics which are utterly dependent on growth elsewhere, could bring the American economy crashing down. The president's foreign policy is a shambles and Benghazi is the metaphor in blood for Obama's failure.

Ask yourself, if forced to argue one side or the other, which side would you choose, to defend the Obama record or to prosecute it?"

This has nothing to do with the GOP being ‘frothing’ or whatever they are saying. This has to do with massive and wide spread abuse of government power. It can’t be swept under the rug as some partisan game.

30 days? I’m on record as saying the riots are scheduled for 4th of July.

I’m betting the trigger event will be failure to fund EBT card on the 1st (them dastardly republicans and their eeeeeeevil sequester, doncha know?)

Yep. Till the next “manufactured crisis” comes along and takes over the headlines.

Benghazi, the IRS scandal, the illegal wiretapping of the Associated Press, any of these are enough to warrant Congressional investigations.

But for Obammie to take the position that by adding and increasing the White House scandals; he can cause information overload so that Americans are now just too insensitive to it all is just truly amazing.

And sadly, his game is working.

There are at least 100 reasons to impeach Obama.

If that amnesty bill becomes law, then Carville's prediction will likely come to pass.

Which makes CW2 inevitable ...

The MSM is circling the wagons. After expressing just the right amount of outrage of the rogues out there that Obama has NO control over. The President just needs more control, donchaknow.

I totally agree. Obama is untouchable, especially since the “media” and he will kiss and make up. But Congress still needs to go through the motions of getting the truth out, even though Americans can’t bring themselves to stop adoring him.

You and Carville are correct.

The MSM still has a stranglehold on the news agenda, and the low information vote is much more interested in the Beyonce and Kardashian pregnancies.

None of these scandals, as with Fast and Furious, are going anywhere. Sorry. The dems rule the culture.
