Sarah Palin, Tea Party save America (Kathleen Parker now admires Gov. Palin?)
The Hill ^ | May 15, 2013 | Bernie Quigley

Posted on 05/15/2013 9:08:35 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

This morning from The Washington Post’s Kathleen Parker: "Breaking news: Conservative organizations suddenly have found common cause with one of their favorite objects of contempt — the benighted Mainstream Media ... Or as the tea party queen and former Alaska governor likes to put it, the ‘lamestream media.’ In a twist of irony, the two groups have coalesced around a common enemy: the U.S. government.”

The Tea Party queen here is, of course, Sarah Palin. Interesting, because Parker was among the first to announce, when Palin first arrived on the scene, that Palin was “out of her league.”

“The league” is what we commonly call the “establishment” today. This definition of the word “establishment,” which was popularized in the '60s, popped up again (here, I think) to juxtapose and enhance the Tea Party. It contains lamestream press, the two political parties, and the families of influence from Eastern money and Northeastern states, the Kennedy and the Bush apparatuses primarily (Obama proudly walks his Kennedy doggie) and now the Clintons and their generation.

The establishment has flipped. America today has done what needs to be done and it could not have been done without the Tea Party. But truth be told, there would be no Tea Party today had there not been a Sarah Palin to egg it on and advance it.

Reports now are everywhere that “DC turns on Obama,” a headline today at Politico....

("If you love me, keep my commands" .... John 14 :15)

1 John 3:21-24

Dear friends,

if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.

And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them.

And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

Thank you for setting that straight. I still believe the lamestream media needs to be tarred and feathered.

Conservative organizations suddenly have found common cause with one of their favorite objects of contempt — the benighted Mainstream Media

As a conservative, I have always favored freedom of the press as a nearly absolute right, just like freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and the right to keep and bear arms. I just despise the pathetic abuse of that right by today's mainstream media. I would happily protect even the most hateful or evil speech (for example that of Chuckie Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, or Barack Obama), just as I would prefer they show enough patriotism and human decency to support my right to freedom of religion 24/7 and not just "freedom of worship" for an hour on Sunday mornings, and my right to own and carry the firearms of my choice.

I don’t give a carp what Parker thinks or says. It’ll be a long, long time before she gains my trust. I don’t know if she’ll ever be able to shake the Spitzer stink off.

In fact, it was worse. But Rizzo provided free lunches for the press and the press loved him. Then one day, a single reporter refused the free lunch. Then another did, then another and another, and soon the press woke up to the Rizzo corruption and began to see their appeasement as benign coat carriers advanced and protected it. The Philadelphia Inquirer went on the attack. It went on to win Pulitzer after Pulitzer and in short time took the reputation of being the best investigative newspaper in America. And Philly returned to life.

The dam has broken in D.C. Let's hope the same happens there.

It could happen... great story. Woodward and the Washington Post were first... the New York Times still doesn't 'get it'... And thank God for Drudge and FreeRepublic....

The difference, of course is that Sarah Palin was smart enough to understand history, experience and science. It is a fact that EVERY top down, iron fisted government targets political opponents. Kathleen Parker is too stupid to learn from history, experience and science, so she is surprised by these recent revelations.

Yet, I am somehow supposed to celebrate Parker while still marginalizing Sarah Palin...

Add mainstream academia and Hollywood to that mix as influential hangers-on and you have a fair approximation of the Establishment of the moment. What has happened, however, is that suddenly major portions of the MSM have discovered that although they consider themselves power brokers they are, in fact, treated very much as hangers-on. Between the AP phone records scandal and the IRS abuse it is painfully apparent that the people they did so much to place in high office have displayed all the gratitude of a pit bull who knows he has his owners' numbers. There is, alas, no particular solidarity in the Ruling Class.

There was always an element of Groupthink involved in the lockstep media campaigns that is a blot on human dignity. It is apparent that within the current media fury there are individuals who are reclaiming their dignity. That does not necessarily mean they're reclaiming their objectivity, but it's a start. A slave has to see his chains before he can can break them.

I’m not holding my breath on this one. She has joined Coulter and many others in their outspoken contempt for Sarah Palin. Now she sees the writing on the wall and realizes that the PUBLIC trusts Palin far above most other politicians and spokespeople. She resonates the truth, and she speaks English well. She doesn’t speak Ivy League nonsense. Has no tolerance for it! AMEN!

As for Kathleen, well she has some changing to do and we’ll be watching.

I think, the AP thing was a game changer. My bet more reporters were singled out as well—not just AP. The affair is OVER. We have not seen the bottom of these raging scandals as more will come forward. As the media made Obama, so to they can destroy him—and they will. Watch, this has crossed an invisible line. The man’s a fool to target his friends and use his Thugs to silence enemies real and imagined. He is heading down the road of Nixon and I fear —when all the sewage comes out he may well take his own life in the White House.
