Would you support Sarah Palin should she decide to run for the presidency in 2016?
Let's see. How does she compare to my litmus checks:
What's not to like?
Oh, yeah. That thing about not reading newspapers and also seeing Russia from her house. That's just too dumb to be true. /s
Well, but she did resign from her office, so I guess that's one thing not to like. But they all have at least one thing not to like. How does she compare on all the major conservative issues?
And the left absolutely hates her.
And Tokyo Rove and the GOP-e absolutely despises her.
But tea party conservatives like her. A lot!
And so do I.
How about you?
Are you ready to turn this country around with an honest to God pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, God-loving, America-loving patriot and grassroots conservative favorite who we can all be proud of and for whom we will work overtime for a change?
Absolutely I’d support her, but what current data exists that shows she would compete well with Hillary?
Not so difficult for this thread. If 400 replies, there's only been the same four or five PDS flunkies that we've seen since 2008.
That's 99% YES!!! for Palin on FR.
theres a couple hundherd people here jumping up and down and yelling what more do you need
Who are the Kardashians?
I disagree with you.
Best....
“The question is, has the tipping point been reached?
Are there just too many low-information dolts out looking for free stuff, who believe every word put out by the lib media?
Im beginning to wonder if a conservative, or even a RINO, can win a national election, considering how the demographics in this country have changed.”
Very good question, Signalman.
It's not that they are impossible, just that they are irrelevant.
It is the nature of any system made up of single member electoral districts and first past the post voting to end up with TWO large coalitions. Thomas Jefferson seems to have been the first to observe this. He then used the phenomenon to weld together the first national political party ~ he won phenomenal victories and erased the Federalists and other second parties like they'd never existed.
The deal is that in a single member district, and each state is a single member district for the Senate, as each Congressional district is for the House, and the entire country is for the President ~ YOU MUST WIN at least 50% of the total vote plus 1 vote TO WIN THE OFFICE.
The first time you set up your democratic republic you might win office with less than that, but by the second election there'll be an organized opposition shooting for the exact same thing you are!
Coalition building takes place within the parties, and there'll be only two.
The shape of the electorate becomes a bi-modal saddle which is nothing at all like the bell-shaped curve political theory novices like Romney imagined it. One mode on the saddle is called the Democrat and the other mode on the saddle is called the Republican ~ party.
Coalitions are noteworthy for the drifting of coalition partners from one mode to the other. These drifts rarely happen as a consequence of a single politician attracting a crowd, but rather as a consequence of changes in the economy, technology and society exteranal to the political structure.
In a number of other writings on this I have given many examples of exactly that. The current best one, however, involves a politician and his fan-base. This involves the movement of the Charlie Crist people from the Republican to the Democrat column in Florida elections. Surprising to many Charlie had a large following, and they left the Republican party with him. We did not win Florida this last time. We used to win Florida all the time.
We'll get Florida back but the state party will need to get more Republicans registered to vote and to the polls first.
BTW, the Republican party was never a small third party. It started as the Republican National Committee which had as its purpose the election of a President ~ John C. Fremont!
They started with a base made up of Abolitionist organizations and a few still intact state based Whig party committees.
The Abolitionists were a large body that almost became a political party. The addition of Whigs to the mix enabled them to achieve their political goals through the Republican party. The second Republican candidate was Abe Lincoln, a railroad lawyer, a Whig! Whigs were strong on roads and national capital improvements such as ports, canals and banks!
Both major coalitions suffer from having been taken over by a small minority ~ the Democrats by the Commies, and the Republicans by the GOP-e, or the paid political advisors and their made up political front men.
The Democrats would be well advised to purge the Commies before they get involved in a blood purge the Commies win. The Republicans need to dump the GOP-e so the party can begin again to represent the interests of the republic!
Hell yeah!
So, what’s your problem?
Haha.
That was posted to a photo of HRC, just fyi.
Yes.
The thing is Mu, all that history was based on 2 parties competing against each other. That is no longer applicable when the top GOP pick was farther left than Bill Clinton. And he was.
Further the move toward a GOP guy cosponsoring a gun control bill and several on the gang of ocho...plus all the noise they are making on gay everything means that there is now two wings of the same bird.
New game and the old rules are out the window.
I would definately vote, but considering the beating she got from the media in 08, I would think the media would be even MORE bloodthirsty and end up turning off the low info, moderate Rights.
The MSM will savage any R running for president, even if they are more to the left than the Dem candidate. The solution? A conservative candidate with GUTS to take on the media no holds barred!
Yes.
Interesting points. Maybe someone has put together statements she has made about social issues.
Excellent idea.
“I do not think she is as Pro-family as many think. “

America's moral decline is in large part DIRECTLY linked to government presuming to "manage" individual morality, from charity (via welfare that ends up funding sloth and promiscuity) to homosexual "rights" (via anti-discrimination laws that force others to accommodate open homosexuality and punish those who exercise their God-given right to tell open homosexuality to go somewhere else), to meddlesome minimum wage laws that dictate a "moral" wage and cripple the early stages of work ethic development and teen employment, simultaneously created a huge magnet for illegal workers in whose home countries our low-skilled labor minimum wage is enough to support a family.
Conservatives like you had BETTER understand that libertarianism is the path to living morally because it PREVENTS government from prohibiting YOU from living morally.
Well we know her position on abortion. Here Chick filla pic pretty much spells out her gay marriage position. The ONLY variable is her Immigration stance. Last I say her ‘plan’ put illegals in mex at the back of the line. But as new ‘legal’ applicants entered the system, they jumped ahead. Net result, mathematically impossible they ever return legally.
But she should just say no and be done with it. That is my one real gripe with her.
