The U.S. Army has further punished a highly respected and decorated officer in the wake of Muslim groups complaining about the approved course he taught on radical Islam at National Defense University.
In October, WND reported Lt. Col. Matthew Dooley was fired from his position at the school for the way he conducted a class on how to respond to a variety of scenarios instigated by radical Muslims. A visitor to the class found the discussions offensive to Muslims and informed some 57 Islamic organizations, which then complained to Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In addition to the firing, Gen. Dempsey promptly orchestrated a negative Officer Evaluation Report against Dooley that deeply tarnished a career that had received only sterling reviews from West Point through nearly 20 years in the service. Dempsey never discussed the incident with Dooley.
On Sunday, the Washington Times reported Dooley has been punished again, this time as he pursued the role of battalion commander. According to the Times, an Army command selection board studied Dooley’s record and candidacy for a command assignment. The five-member panel agreed to keep Dooley under consideration. Shortly thereafter, Gen. Lloyd J. Austin III, who at the time was Army vice chief and subsequently became head of U.S. Central Command, overruled the board in a brief memo. His actions could effectively spell the end of Dooley’s career.
“There was no reason given, and that’s also a very disturbing aspect of it,” said Richard Thompson, president of the Thomas More Law Center, who is representing Dooley in his original appeal of his firing and negative review. “The way they’re treating him now is not only a total .....”

Look at most of the police forces in larger cities. They would just follow orders. Now they are pushing for the same thing in the Army.

The Army has had a love affair with Muslims for years now. Personally, I blame Bush and his unwillingness to set the tone that “Islam is our enemy.” He made sure that was never the case, the command climate was set, and here we are carrying it out to its logical conclusion. I could be wrong on my timeline (maybe it goes back further in time?), but this is sadly not atypical.
Example: my unit is an intel-related and we have a lot of civilians working there as analysts and God-knows-what else. We had to do our annual training which included the standard EO circle-jerk we’ve been doing for many years. Usually there is a vignette or two involved, and this time it involved a Muslim who became “closer to his faith” during an Iraq deployment who was also preaching Islam more and declaring people who were not of Islam were going to hell. “Is this guy a problem?” was the discussion question. I was literally the only one in the entire theater full of people, Soldiers or civilians, who said “Yes.” The guy running the discussion asked me if I would think the same way if this guy was a Catholic, and I told him no. After a few questions, he determined that my main issue with this guy was that he was a Muslim saying these things. “Yes.” All the “tsk-tsk” and “tut-tut” crap I heard coming from those around me was amazing to me. I’ve seen Muslim violence up close and personal on many occasions. To these analysts, it’s just a series of paper reports, I guess. Multiculturalism still reigns supreme in their minds. Sad and scary.
Like I have said here before, glad I am retired now. This would be like punishing someone for criticizing the Nazi’s for their death camps.
Do these people have any idea of the doctrines of Islam - and especally the doctrine of abrogation, which means that later texts supercede earlier texts? Mohammed started out thinking that people would convert to Islam through reasoning. When that didn’t work he turned to conversion by the sword. The quotes to make Islam sound peaceful are taken from Mohammed’s early years, but those texts have been abrogated by the later commands to kill the infidels.
A Muslim getting “closer to his faith” means he gets past the fluff that is intended to make the world think well of Islam and is getting down to the actual binding (non-abrogated) texts, which command violence against non-Muslims.
I remember reading an article about a meeting that Prince Charles tried to have with “moderate Muslims”. He wanted them to condemn the “extremist” phenomenon of killing infidels. He could not find one “moderate Muslim” who was willing to condemn the practice because they all said it was commanded by Islam. And these are the “moderates”.

Our entire military, the government is a foregone conclusion, is irreparably ruined. Perhaps forever. It now joins the rest of the nation to prove that ‘Change’ did indeed happen.
To depend upon the military to control and win a ground force action either foreign or domestic is now out of the question. That is, unless the military is ordered to attack and kill American civilians.
The ranks are now tinged with pink. Lesbians and homosexuals, it now appears, have slunk into the ranks of the top tier. Field grade Muslims in uniform murder American soldiers and are held in posh seclusion until a farcical trial is assembled.
An officer is literally canned for teaching the treacheries employed by Islamic killers to potential combat officers.
Islam is good. Christians and Jews are bad!
Time to tilt this diseased ship of state on its side to allow all the rats to slide off.

I would never do it again. I can’t look someone in the eyes and lie like that.
Apparently too many of the wrong people have risen in the ranks of the military.
