I live in the area and I agree 100% it is because of the huge rate of illegals in this area. Just in Orlando today and all I saw where Haitians, Mexicans and poor AA. It is literally a 3rd world country in many areas of Central FL.
No. This is not the problem. Read a really great article awhile back about the wealthy suburban areas where these diseases are making a comeback. It’s the educated higher income folks who now think everything natural is GREAT and that vaccination is EVIL. I am inundated with this kind of stuff all the time from people I know. Meanwhile, I’ve tried to explain that carbon dioxide is NATURAL. We will be seeing more and more of this as less people become vaccinated due to wrong thinking.
And let me stress the fact that the reason we have not seen this up until now is because while there may have been an abstention from vaccination here and there, there were not pockets of these people. This is what we now have: little enclaves of large numbers of non-vaccinated children. And we reap what we sow.
Anything pharmaceutical has somehow become “evil.” Ridiculous.

The baby was only 6 weeks old. Doesn’t matter if he/she got immunized they probably would have stilled died from contracting Whooping Cough at such a young age. The truth is that babies have very underdeveloped immune systems and can die from a lot of things if they catch it so young. Look how many RSV deaths in babies there are every year. It is disingenuous that they are trying to spin this as an unvaccinated child...at 6 weeks every baby is basically unvaccinated.
My Mother said I almost died from Whooping Cough. I was born in 1947. I remember her telling me that my arms and legs got to where they were no bigger than your fingers.
I got whooping cough a couple years ago. My internist (a conservative young woman) told me that there was a spike in whooping cough cases partly because too many people weren't vaccinating their kids.
Now how much of that is due to illegals and how much to silly people panicking over mercury and what-not, I don't know. But we are not exactly overrun with illegals here (and thanks to the legislation Gov. Deal just signed, we're going to have a lot more of them leaving).
The other reason is that the pertussis vaccine was combined with the tetanus vaccine. You only get the latter every 10 years, and it does have some nasty side effects and you shouldn't get it too often (but you have to have it if, like me, you work with dogs, horses, and dirt.) But the pertussis vaccine is only good for about 5-6 years.
That's how it caught me.

There is no doubt that the influx of foreigners has elevated the resurgence of formerly erradicated diseases. So has the ease in traveling to foreign countries.
In my mind, that makes it even more urgent to vaccinate our kids.
Once upon a time, all kids were required to be vaccinated prior to getting into school. The diseases disappeared. I am sure there may have been cases of undiagnosed autism (and adhd=bratty kids). But if vaccinations are the cause of autism, then everyone should be autistic. Even the article states it was a flawed study.
How does one get their child in public school without vaccs?

The "herd immunity" is what protects the very young. When you have pockets of anti-vaccine people whose toddlers and young children are not vaccinated, the infants suffer because they are exposed.

That’s BS. Whooping cough was all but eradicated until it was brought back in here by 3rd world migrants. Illegal aliens don’t bother with ‘immunizations’.

No one ever brings up the fact that most infants are in a daycare by the time they are 6 weeks old. Of course there are going to be an increase in disease regardless of shooting kids up with 30 shots before K because we are putting babies and children in germ/virus filled daycares. Honestly I see a lot of kids walking around in a constant state of sickness because their immune systems were never supposed to handle being bombarded with 70 other kids sicknesses.
Third world diseases are making a comeback because the U.S. is becoming the third world. In our little burg in Colorado, we’ve had repeated bedbug infestations in our government library and multiple TB epidemics in our local government schools. I wonder if anyone can guess why? If you can, then you’re pretty good at guessing because the local media won’t say boo turkey about the real reasons for these epidemics.
The criminal aliens have killed, murdered, robbed, and raped millions of Americans and the Nations Attorney General is proclaiming criminal aliens have a “civil right” to break into our Country!
