The alleged Boston Marathon bomber may have tried to kill himself rather than surrender after he was cornered by police - but failed in his suicide attempt, it has been revealed.
A new report says Dzhokhar Tsarnaev shoved his pistol in his own mouth and pulled the trigger as SWAT officers and federal agents closed in on the boat where he was hiding in Friday night. However, instead of killing him, the bullet simply passed through his neck.
Authorities have said they cannot question him because of a throat wound. He remains in 'very serious' condition at a Boston hospital.
Boston Mayor Tom Menino revealed on Sunday that federal agents may never be able to speak with Tsarnaev. Menino didn't elaborate on his comment and it is unknown whether the gunshot also caused brain damage.

I’ll place my bets on the Russian perspective in this matter.
What needs to be done is to follow the money. The state prosecutor to be assigned in this case needs to subpoena all possibly related bank accounts of the brothers, the Mosque and its members, and any wire transfers to any of them over the past, to see where the money went.
I don’t believe this.
Seems more likely that perp is squawking like a jaybird and that authorities don’t want his “associates” to know that he’s giving them up.

LA Times article says Tsarnaev the younger was “swearing profusely” in the ambulance as he was being taken to hospital.

Anatomy wise its pretty inconceivable that he could shoot out his vocal cords and miss the cervical spine which lies immediately posterior with a straight shot. If the gun is angled chances are the vertebral, jugular and/or carotid arteries or veins get clipped or the subclavian blood vessels. That would incur major blood loss being so close to the heart pump. Highly doubtful thats what he did.
I don’t trust the government we have now any more than I trust the taliban.

Can we do without the conspiracy theories or the trutherism, please? The “drill” simply means that they had prepared for a major terrorist attack before (which was reasonable after the 93 attack) and had plans worked out for it. Obviously their plans weren’t anywhere near the scale of the attack, something for which the higher ups were responsible.
But please do not attempt to diminish the names of our 9/11 heroes, who risked everything (and lost) trying to save their fellow Americans from Muslim terrorists. Do you know that some of these people probably spent weeks dying, trapped in darkness, many of them burned or injured ( the lucky ones, because they would have died faster) with no water, and rats gnawing on them while they died alone and after days or weeks of suffering?
The cops found a site under the stairs (where people were protected from the collapse and probably took weeks to die) that nobody will even talk about. So shut up with the trutherism, please.
It was a Muslim attack, and we simply weren’t ready for it and the “drill” was outdated.
He was supposedly a pre-med student who had received mostly Ds and Fs at UMass. He was a stoner who spent his time listening to hip-hop and rap music. That is probably what the aunt meant when she said that he was American.
Recent studies have shown that heavy marijuana use before the age of 21 can cause short term memory and a decrease of 8 or 9 points in the IQ. It also increases the risk of psychosis. So maybe ….
