(CNN) -- The devices used in the Boston Marathon attack Monday are typical of the "lone wolf:" the solo terrorist who builds a bomb on his own by following a widely available formula. In this case, the formula seems very similar to one that al Qaeda has recommended to its supporters around the world as both crudely effective and difficult to trace. But it is also a recipe that has been adopted by extreme right-wing individuals in the United States. The threat of the "lone wolf" alarms the intelligence community.

Someone please explain to me why the descriptive verbiage regarding a possible perp is always an “extreme right wing terrorist”. Why not an “extreme left wing terrorist”?

"Dogs' sense of smell overpowers our own by orders of magnitudeit's 10,000 to 100,000 times as acute, scientists say. "Let's suppose they're just 10,000 times better," says James Walker, former director of the Sensory Research Institute at Florida State University, who, with several colleagues, came up with that jaw-dropping estimate during a rigorously designed, oft-cited study. "If you make the analogy to vision, what you and I can see at a third of a mile, a dog could see more than 3,000 miles away and still see as well."Put another way, dogs can detect some odors in parts per trillion. What does that mean in terms we might understand? Well, in her book Inside of a Dog, Alexandra Horowitz, a dog-cognition researcher at Barnard College, writes that while we might notice if our coffee has had a teaspoon of sugar added to it, a dog could detect a teaspoon of sugar in a million gallons of water, or two Olympic-sized pools worth. Another dog scientist likened their ability to catching a whiff of one rotten apple in two million barrels.

Because the media was infiltrated and is now controlled by communists and communist sympathizers, whose goal is to destroy our constitution, democracy, capitalism, freedom, and liberty in the U.S., and the conservatives and patriots are the only thing left standing in the way of those goals. So, if you would do or say something against socialism or communism, you are now considered a terrorist for your resistance. Even if you say nothing, but are a known patriot or conservative, you are labeled a terrorist, and an enemy, whenever the opportunity arises.

I am surprised that they still make pressue cookers since we now have crock pots. I remember my mother had one and used it to cook spinach, of all things.
Recently a Brazilian friend staying with me wanted to use one to cook beans and since I didn't have one I asked around my neighborhood to borrow one but none of my neighbors had one. After that I bought one from Walmart but I've never used it. I do make Brazilian beans but I use can beans which are just as good.
Brazilians use pressure cookers because the cooking time is half the time as cooking them in a regular pot on the stove.
When I was in Portugal some Brazilians living there told me that pressure cookers are illegal there.

The liberal media is off the rails...It’s either Muslim terrorists or Right Wing extremists! God I hate their whack radical pshychotic phobias!

All well and good but surficants work quite well ~ but if you want to really screw up these dogs drag fried chicken all over the place ~
To: jpsb
But what if it smelled like normal street garbage?
To: babygene
The thesis is that the cooker is in the bag and the bag is inside a black plastic bag. This is all perfectly normal given the heavy snows that hit Boston earlier ~ just trash here and there. These might have been set at the curb only to be picked up and tossed closer to nearby buildings during the sweep of debris before the race.

BTW, think of all possibilities ~ not just what your tiny mind can concoct ~ else you risk running down the middle aged white male terrorist route!

extreme right-wing individuals ..and there are no left-wing extremists capable of violence? Occupy, black Panthers, liberation groups, anarchy groups, Marxist groups, democratic socialist groups... and the list goes on.
