On his radio show last week, Geraldo Rivera applauded the Associated Press decision to drop the term illegal immigrant from its official style guidelines and then decreed that no one should use the phrase any longer, seeing as how he believes it is akin to saying negro to describe a black person.
You can never use the expression illegal alien again, the radio host said to his colleague Bill OReilly. It is a pejorative. Its like saying negro or homosexual. It is a loaded term that doesnt accurately describe.
Why dont you just give me a list of things I can say? OReilly pushed back.
Illegal aliens and Bible thumping are two things you cannot say, Rivera quipped in reference to his Foxs colleagues controversial remarks about the religious opponents of gay marriage.
Im not giving into this stuff. Youre crazy, OReilly replied. If somebodys in here and breaks our immigration laws, theyre an illegal alien.
Theyre not an illegal alien, the host concluded. Theyre an undocumented immigrant, give them some slack.

How about “Caucasian” Geraldo...is that being “pejorative”, too?
FOX News would be well served to get rid of Geraldo AND Juan Williams.
Who cares what Horrendo Revolver thinks.
Time to push back alright, I;m also sending him a few letters with calling them illegal immigrants and , homosexuals
He;s a flake like most on the fringe left

Geraldo.. Jerry...They’re here ILLEGALLY...get over it.
I want them to stop calling us “white people”. It’s racist.
One more reason that I do not even watch Fox News . . . It has become the "Architect Karl Rove's" channel . . . And him, I have no use for whatsoever . . . and Jerry Rivers, even less.
Okay. How about “illegal intruder”?
Blah, blah, blah.
I am the frito bandito...
That is so funny and a perfect answer to Geraldo.
Remember when the word “Militia” conjured up images of honor, duty, and patriotism?
Blacks aren’t “Negro”?
Oh I forgot that Bill Clinton was hailed as the first black president by Nobel poet Tony Morrison. So, it appears that “black” is distinct from “Negro”. And since Time magazine’s Jack White said that Justice Clarence Thomas was one of the scariest white people in Washington, then it is becoming more clear what “black” is, as distinct from “Negro”.
And since we elected a President whose mother was Caucasian, his race is not “Negro” but according to the dictionary, “mulatto”. But Obama wrote in his autobiography that he struggled with his racial identity before deciding that he was “black”. Since when can a person decide to be “black”? It is becoming more and more clear what “black” is as distinctly different from “Negro”.
And thus we come full circle to Geraldo’s demand that we stop calling people who are citizens of another country but who are present in this country without legal permission of the government, “illegal aliens”. They are like people who are “black”. In the mental model of humanity that modern progressives have, the ideology of a person IS their identity, and since the vast majority of Mexican immigrants support big government and social welfare spending, and the vast majority (90%) of Negros do was well, the whole issue of race becomes morphed in the progressive mind to those who support socialism. It turns out that both groups are reds.
And this is the lengthy path that leads progressives to complain like Juan Williams did following the overwhelming vote in 2010 in Missouri to oppose ObamaCare, that objecting to a socialist program that a black president supports is racism.
Racism is objecting to socialism and anything associated with it, allowing millions of mainly Mexican proto-socialists can come here and later be granted amnesty that leads to being able to support socialist politicians and to even eventually vote for them.
Whew! It took me a while to understand that the basis for Geraldo’s complaint, but there it is.
Agreed 100% on Geraldo.
Juan I have a soft side for, though I recognize I’m hopelessly outnumbered here, in that regard.
They’ve both irritating as all get-out.
I see nothing redeeming about Geraldo. Zero.
Is Whorealdo bucking to be head of the Ministry of Speech and Propaganda when Obama and his band of commies finally make their move?
This is absurd and we need to subject tools like Whorealdo to relentless ridicule.
What do we call bank robbers? People who make unauthorized withdrawls?
I’d use the word my father used but I don’t want to get banned and he looked like he couldn’t get back in the US from Mexico even with ID (a real ID BTW since he was born here unlike a certain pol from some island place, supposedly).
“And this man wants to be Senator...”
Of course he does. He’s a narcissist, like the rest of them.
“Unlawful resident” probably not allowed either, too judgmental...
