My brother-in-law is fighting stage 4 prostate cancer. He just received this letter from his oncologist:

Dear Patients and Friends of The Zangmeister Cancer Center,
You may have heard about "sequestration," the automatic spending cuts to defense, education, healthcare and other programs that are the result of the failure of Congress to compromise on how to responsibly rein in spending. Unfortunately, sequestration will have a severe adverse impact on cancer care. That's because it will cut payments to providers your physician for chemotherapy and other critical cancer drugs, paying for most at below cost. If these cuts are allowed to stay in place it will force further cancer clinic closings and push cancer care into higher-cost settings for patients and taxpayers. In the past 2 years in Ohio, several practices have moved to higher cost settings raising the costs of cancer care in their communities.
The Administration should not include cancer drugs as part of the sequester cut, but has ignored current law that clearly defines payment for these drugs. Here are ways you can respond and help:
You can help by signing an official White House petition to stop the sequester cut to cancer drugs. Simply do the following: Go to http://wh.gov/HDEm Click on the "Set Up Account" button, which simply requires your name, email address and zip code to verify you are a real, unique person. Wait a few minutes to get an email from the White House with a link to the petition to sign. This email may appear in your Junk folder. Click on the link in the email to sign. It's that simple! When we get 100,000 signatures in 30 days, the White House has to respond to the petition.
I’m sorry. I didn’t think the < SARC> tag was necessary.
I am not trying to be difficult, but I am trying to figure out how the sequester is resulting in these cuts. It not explained anywhere.
“He is just heartless and cruel.”
It goes along with murdering babies after they have been delibered aliveat abortion clinics. It’s more than cruel—he is evil.
There are numerous articles that have been recently released. Just google sequestation cancer treatment and it is quite enlightening.
Many, many years ago I heard Laura Schlesinger talk about hate. I have tried to find a source for her talk, and haven't, so far.
Basically, what she said was that everything God gave us is for good, even hate. There are things that should be hated. The trick is to apply hate where it belongs.
Evil should be hated.
I will do that. Thanks.
Granny I did the same thing. Looked at my childbirth hospital bill. Amazing. You know when the prices for health care went up? The day Lyndon signed Medicare, and then went through the roof when Medicaid was signed.
Petitions: verbal homeopathy - the absurd notion that a few thousand people saying “me too” to a pithy statement will somehow persuade those willing to kill millions to achieve their goals.
Change oncologists, this one is a lying nut cake.
When I was working at the hospital, I started a conversation with one of our gastrologist about how he was doing with the new rules.....He said he normally charges 225 dollars for a gastronome. (years after bc/bs.) The government guide lines said that procedure was to be 320 dollars, of which the government would charge his patient the difference.....Subtract 225 dollars from 320 dollars and he said he got a raise of 25 dollars. the patient was at that time usually didn't get billed as the doctor was getting more than he usually charged. At that time most doctors said they would just take what the government gave, patient didn't have to pay the difference.....We are from the government and are here to help you....from there costs went sky high and it no longer was hospitalization but health care.
error, the government told him he was to charge his patient the difference......
All part B medicare payments to physicians are now cut 2% for dates of service this month onward. And that is NOT a cut in a scheduled increase; it's a real cut. It wouldn't matter if there weren't price controls on serving medicare patients.
