Guns and ammo are selling briskly these days, and that means weapons makers are hiring. Some manufacturers are scrambling to find enough workers.

Ancillary booms as well. My law firm is doing pretty well with setting up gun trusts for suppressors, etc.

Can a person have a gun trust for their guns as well?
Basically, the trust owns the weapons ... not you. It is a legal mechanism for owning firearms regulated by the National Firearms Act ... suppressors, automatic weapons, short-barreled rifles and shotguns, destructive devices, pistols with foregrips, etc., etc.
ATF still has to approve the transfer ... but, if done right, it protects from criminal liability and will allow the weapons to be passed to future generations.

What about putting ordinary firearms in a trust, so at the very least if anyone asks if you “own” any firearms, you can honestly and legally say no? Does that protect from restraining orders (Lautenberg)?
I don’t know. Never seen that come up.
You shouldn’t need a gun trust for legal firearms, at least at the moment. Background checks still apply to the transfer, even for a gun trust. If a restraining order keeps you from possessing firearms, then you’d still be in possession, even if the trust owns it. And, a restraining order can probably be written to cover the trust’s ownership ... provided the writer knows about it (which they’d likely be able to find out).

You may want to spend some time thinking about this. As of right now, I don’t have any “illegal” firearms. However, that could change with the stroke of a pen at any time the other side gets one vote over half — and at any level of government. Would a trust, arranged before they became illegal, offer any protection from them from being confiscated (or ordered to be turned in)?
Probably not. A trust doesn’t make illegal firearms legal. It is a mechanism for making very-restricted firearms more easily transferable within a family, and gets around some of the legalities about non-owners using the firearm.
Trusts don’t circumvent background checks, or ATF approvals, or transfer requirements, or taxes, or fees ... etc. It streamlines the legalities, it doesn’t skip them.
If they confiscate ... they can confiscate from a trust. I’ve heard of weapons being confiscated from trusts that weren’t set-up right.
The only way I could see it helping is if they start treating ‘assault’ weapons like Class III weapons — meaning you’d have to jump through all the hoops now required of suppressors or full-autos. In that case, a trust would help a bit with the same things it helps with on suppressors or full-autos.

Possibly. If the guns are in a family trust, you might not need to transfer them inside the family. I don’t know the text of the law, though. Schumer could take gun trusts into account.

You’re right about firearms and ammo, though. I had assumed from an eBay search engine hit while looking for brass elsewhere. Tried again, and it turned out to be laser bore sighting tools and other junk.
My point was that scalpers bought quite a few different kinds of items and sold them second-hand (like the bolt carrier groups previously for sale through eBay, others who frequented sporting goods stores on delivery dates and so on)—much like the freaks who scalped rock concert customers for tickets during the ‘70s.
It’s disgusting—all of it. We’re not producing nearly enough of many things on our own American soil for revenues to support a reasonably sized government, much less the regulating, snooping, gossipy monstrosity we’re seeing. All influential sides in politics are lobbying for their government incomes and government-derived incomes (e.g., retail, services, all).
And now, according to our fearless leaders in politically correct business, government and academia, the world is about to end in any one or several of many ways. Run for your lives! That was not the way of real men, who ran this country a few decades ago.
Volume for production and sales was the American way that worked—not the contemporary, shrinking fascist/commie model. The better part of the default process is coming. Let’s have fun and enjoy the slide toward much smaller government and better leadership in business, academia and politics. Tomorrow belongs to the technically inclined—especially low-techs.
