Bonnie and Clyde was Arthur Penns landmark film from 1967 that was the first to show violence in a realistic fashion. People didnt just get wounded, they screamed in agony. The killing of the movies two protagonists at the end was a slow motion dance of death, with the bodies moving with each machine gun bullet.
This song was not in the movie but attempted to take advantage of the films popularity. It was the first time Georgie Fame had hit the charts in nearly four years. It came in at #8 this week.

This was credited to Lennon & McCartney but was primarily a Paul McCartney effort.
The line, Tuesday afternoon is never ending, is a sly dig at the Moody Blues song of the same name from their 1967 disk, Days of Future Passed. See how they run, ends up referring to stockings, which is a wonderful lyrical twist. McCartney does a fine Fats Domino impersonation, so good that Domino recorded the song himself. This came in at #7 this week.

I have a feeling that a lot of the stuff attributed to Lennon were mostly McCartney. Just sayin’......

If you look at the lyrics McCartney wrote after the Beatles broke up, they tend to be rather tame. Lennon added a certain pungency to McCartney’s music.
