”Bonnie and Clyde” was Arthur Penn’s landmark film from 1967 that was the first to show violence in a realistic fashion. People didn’t just get wounded, they screamed in agony. The killing of the movie’s two protagonists at the end was a slow motion dance of death, with the bodies moving with each machine gun bullet.

This song was not in the movie but attempted to take advantage of the film’s popularity. It was the first time Georgie Fame had hit the charts in nearly four years. It came in at #8 this week.
