White smoke at the Vatican. A new Pope has been selected!
Back to normal, bear in the woods, Italian Pope.
I turned FOX off as I was sick of hearing how the church has to reform and change and how shep thinks his feces sex should be accepted by the church
He is 76 years old.. I’m hearing he is NOBODY’S puppet.. Good choice, IMO.
Liberation theology
Bergoglio is an accomplished theologian who distanced himself from liberation theology early in his career. He is thought to be close to Comunione e Liberazione, a conservative lay movement.
Abortion and euthanasia
Cardinal Bergoglio has invited his clergy and laity to oppose both abortion and euthanasia.[3]
Homosexuality
He has affirmed church teaching on homosexuality, though he teaches the importance of respecting individuals who are homosexual. He strongly opposed legislation introduced in 2010 by the Argentine Government to allow same-sex marriage. In a letter to the monasteries of Buenos Aires, he wrote: “Let’s not be naive, we’re not talking about a simple political battle; it is a destructive pretension against the plan of God. We are not talking about a mere bill, but rather a machination of the Father of Lies that seeks to confuse and deceive the children of God.” He has also insisted that adoption by homosexuals is a form of discrimination against children. This position received a rebuke from Argentine president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, who said the church’s tone was reminiscent of “medieval times and the Inquisition”.[4]
Yep. Jesuit.
Yes, he is Jesuit and very conservative.

Pope Francis? “Lighten up, Francis!” has acquired a new meaning!
Wiki has already got it up. Here’s a quick cut and paste of some parts:

I don’t know what that means, though...was he not chosen because he is too liberal?
I really hope he doesn’t take the Catholic church down the road of liberalism....
I am not Catholic, btw, but I am very interested in keeping the witness of Christ front and center and fighting the powers of secularism....
English metrical paraphrase of the Te Deum:
“Holy God, We Praise Thy Name”
by Unknown Author, c. 1775
Translated by Clarence A. Walworth, 1820-1900
1. Holy God, we praise thy name;
Lord of all, we bow before Thee.
All on earth Thy scepter claim,
All in heaven above adore Thee.
Infinite Thy vast domain,
Everlasting is Thy reign.
2. Hark! the glad celestial hymn
Angel choirs above are raising;
Cherubim and seraphim,
In unceasing chorus praising,
Fill the heavens with sweet accord:
Holy, holy, holy, Lord!
3. Lo, the apostles’ holy train
Join Thy sacred name to hallow;
Prophets swell the glad refrain,
And the white-robed martyrs follow,
And from morn to set of sun
Through the Church the song goes on.
4. Holy Father, holy Son,
Holy Spirit, three we name Thee;
Though in essence only one,
Undivided God we claim Thee
And, adoring, bend the knee
While we own the mystery.

Church and AIDS
Main article: Roman Catholic Church and AIDS
His doctrinal orthodoxy emphasizes Christ’s mandate to love: he is well remembered for his 2001 visit to a hospice, in which he washed and kissed the feet of twelve AIDS patients.
Social justice
He consistently preaches a message of compassion towards the poor, but somewho? observers would like him to place a greater emphasis on issues of social justice. Rather than articulating positions on matters of political economy, Bergoglio prefers to emphasize spirituality and holiness, believing that this will naturally lead to greater concern for the suffering of the poor. He has, however, voiced support for social programs, and publicly challenged free-market policies.
There he is!!!!!
Thank you. I’m watching now.
