Woo hoo!!
Interesting post. I agree it seems every other word on DU is a cuss word.
s/who both the idiom/who botch the idiom/How ham-fisted of me to extoll the virtues of FReeper literacy and thoughtfulness and then fall flat on face with a mistake. My only feature request an other button next to "Spell" labeled "TWIM", an abbreviation for Type What I Mean. :-)
If anyone can pull off that type of AI, it would be Robinson crew!
For some reason, that makes me want to hide the sheep.
I don't have sheep.

“Maybe its about time FR gets modernized. I mean, get some new techincal blood to make things run a but smoother.
At one point on FB Jim said that he thought John bought some new servers but he didnt. So John was driving all around trying to find a Radio Shack or something. Putting band aids on old equipment.”

“Of course the Dims and Libs were saying you skipped with the current donations...”
Just tell them the money is all used for Jim to eat at Olive Garden. We have been through this again and again - the money is for OLIVE GARDEN! (right, Onyx?)
That's very well said and I agree. One of the great things about Free Republic is its unabashed pro-God stance. In turn that leads to people being careful with their language here for the most part. There are those few occasions when it gets needlessly potty mouthed -- something best left to California's Jerry Brown or the vocabulary-challenged Joe Biden. Using God's name in vain is extremely rare here and that's a real credit for all the FR stands for.
I can't help recall the three films comprising the Godfather trilogy (ping to dfwgator on that). As far I remember, the f-word was used only one time in the nearly 600 minutes. It was when Senator Geary met with Michael Corleone at his Lake Tahoe compound. Because it was so rarely used (if at all elsewhere in the trilogy), it really did have the intended impact. That was, of course, similar to Rhett Butler's parting shot to Scarlett O'Hara in GWTW.
Great job Jim and John! Thanks!
General George Washingtons Order Against Profanity
The General is sorry to be informed that the foolish and wicked practice of profane cursing and swearing, a vice hitherto little known in our American Army is growing into fashion. He hopes that the officers will, by example as well as influence, endeavor to check it and that both they and the men will reflect that we can little hope of the blessing of Heaven on our army if we insult it by our impiety and folly. Added to this it is a vice so mean and low without any temptation that every man of sense and character detests and despises it.
No, thank you. You’re very kind.
You’re calling Free Republic “Freeper”, for some reason.
A Freeper is someone who participates in Free Republic.

My fellow Americans, our long national nightmare is over.

No, that would be Free Dominion, a sister site of FR.
