NBC's Williams Predicts Rubio's Water Sip 'Just Might Live On Forever'
NewsBusters ^

Posted on 02/14/2013 8:57:41 PM PST by chessplayer

On Wednesday's NBC Nightly News, anchor Brian Williams proclaimed that Florida Senator Marco Rubio taking a sip of water during his response to the State of the Union was "the televised moment from last night that just might live on forever." [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]

Williams expounded: "Well, it's one of the cruelest aspects of politics in the television age. No matter how well-crafted the content, no matter how thoughtful a person you are, it's the television moments, the superficial, purely visual moments that are often remembered forever instead. And that will certainly be the case with Florida Senator Marco Rubio's GOP response last night."

The leftwing media will try to make sure it does, meanwhile the left can say anything at all and not be called on it

The funny thing is, actually Rubio is now getting support from people who previously rejected him.

:D

In as much as that was the night of the SOTU address, that doesn't really say a whole lot for Baraqi's speech, now does it?

More people will know who he is.

No reason on God’s good earth that taking the drink of water cannot be viewed as a quirky positive, an example of unscripted spontaneity.

These reporters are so evil they will have half the dunces thinking there is something wrong with taking a sip of water.

They have already taken it too far, and will generate sympathy for him.

Nixon's 5 o'clock shadow in the debate with JFK. Same song, same media, different verse.

Brian Williams might bow to his master after delivering that statement.

...with the YouTube of Hitlery gagging during a speech and gulping down a massive glass full of some unknown liquid appearing to be water but possibly vodka or gin.

Yet the media will bury numerous gaffes by Obama such as “57 States” and “Corpsman” and other idiotic words out of Obama’s mouth.

But a drink of water?

Well then, he’s not fit to serve office.

Not me. I think Ted Cruz might be the guy everyone thinks Marco Rubio is.

Right you are. The media judges conservatives different than liberals. So conservatives need to be extra careful. It's not right, but it's a fact.

Rubio is a pro-amnesty fraud. I found it to be funny. Nothing good or bad.

Rubio as a conservative is the only joke.
