The Affordable Care Act is looking less and less affordable.
Start with the IRSs new estimate for what the cheapest family plan will cost by 2016: $20,000 a year to cover two adults and three kids. And that will only cover 60 percent of medical bills, so add hefty out-of-pocket costs, too.
The next surprise is for parents who thought their kids would be covered by an employer. Sloppy wording in the law left that unclear until last week, when the IRS ruled that kids wont be covered.
Starting in 2014, the law will require employers with 50 or more full-time employees to offer coverage or pay a penalty. Affordable coverage, that is meaning the employee cant be told to contribute more than 9.5 percent of his salary. For example, a worker earning $40,000 a year cannot be required to pay more than $3.800.
But the law doesnt specifically mandate family coverage and now the administration says that wont be required.

Remember how we needed to convert the US Health Care System to a communist run program to cover the unfortunate ‘30 million’????
Or how bout the women libs who since the 60s have preached “Gov., keep your hands off my privates!” meanwhile the fully supported the fact that now the Gov. OWNS their WHOLE bodies and everything is just ducky with that?!
It is designed to fail, and cause the media and public to demand single payer or something
Cloward-PivenCare is more like it
I would like a list of those who actually wrote the details into this comedic piece of legislation. I would be very surprised if it wasn’t full of young, inexperienced, ideology-driven, and unqualified staffers who shouldn’t have been allowed to write anything more important than party invitations.
You are way too generous with those people. The best that can be said of them of that their heads are so far up their rear ends they are incapable of seeing anything that should be obvious to anyone with a moderately functioning brain. “Loyal Democrats” are loyal to their party, not to the truth. The most recent election underscored that fact.
Let’s see, an example:
2 adults, 3 kids with $100,000/year income
20% of income and only 60% coverage (another $5,000?)
25% of gross income just cover health insurance
And that will be only if the health care costs don’t go up!
I believe the President expected the Supreme Court to take it apart, and dissolve it....making that the number one issue of the 2012 election. It was simple math...he’d use the same topic all over again, and reach the same crowd, and get the votes to win.
I suspect he was greatly shocked when the law was stamped ‘ok’, and proclaimed a tax. He really didn’t expect that, and he’s probably sweating a bit now because it’ll drag on the economy unless he can get Republicans into the Senate to tear it apart (Nov 2014 election).
This is what a lot of people don't see coming. It's not just higher premiums. It's lower coverage with a higher deductible before coverage kicks in.
I have yet to hear a single Republican in Congress ask Obama why he signed a law that exempts himself and his family. Shouldn't be asking too much for the President to submit himself and his family to legislation bearing his name.
There will not be a revolt...the sheeple will just follow the MSM...and do what they and the Obama administration say.
It’s over. Capitalism we grew up with is over. There will be death panels...and sick people will line up to die when the government tells them to.
I’m glad I’m on the way out...it’s the next generation I feel for...they are going to pay and pay and pay...until it’s time for them to die...as the government directs them.
bttt
There will always be alternatives. Black market. Unlicensed health providers. Cash only. Death.
Remember the Government Rule Of Ten: “Any government program will cost 10 times as much as originally projected”
Everyone who is surprised, raise your hand.
And instead of helping those that are uninsured, it will only further penalize (tax) the very folks the idiot left claims to be trying to help.....the “uninsured”. And all while destroying what is (or was) probably the best heathcare system in the world. Not surprisingly.
Everyone who is surprised, raise your hand.
Any Docs out there retiring “early” because of this crap?
Hell. All he wheels can come off and they’ll just drag it around with PRIDE.
Like the prize PIG that it is.
I guess the employer of that $40,000 a year employee will collect $3800 from that employee. Provide a policy that costs $3800 and let the employee pay the co-pay and deductible on it.
